Funny Friday Lite: Osama Bin Laden Late Nite Jokes

President Bush looking for Bin Laden all these years

From Denny:  While the news outlets continue to dissect the details of the Bin Laden compound raid, the comedians have wasted no time in concocting their best jokes.  The jokes center less around Bin Laden and his demise and more around everyone's perception of the decade-long situation. President Obama is seen in a new and more favorable light.

Meanwhile, the fallout for Pakistan is heavy.  Absolutely no one believes they didn't know Bin Laden was living among them for six years - by new estimates.  Interestingly enough, the CIA kept an observation station house near his compound, waiting to confirm "the high value" target was indeed living there.  Since drone attacks are not that popular with the neighbors, America waited until intelligence certainty before securing the terrorist.

Bin Laden carried out his business on low tech, still at the head of the organization.  He had no land line phone, no cell phone, no computer lines.  Everything was handled old school with handwritten instructions and using couriers to deliver attack plans.  He used couriers to deliver hard cash to those he bought off in the area who protected him, most likely the retired military who were politically connected along with the local mayor and regional governor.

As to the cartoons, there are sites with "Osama in Hell" sections devoted just to him.  Lots of new cartoons today too.  Obviously, this terrorism garbage hit a nerve with everyone in the world.  America is tired of the stupidity and the Arab world is weary of America chasing down the violent fools on their soil.  Maybe now, most of the world will finally get around to acting sensible again, trying to build a better world for their families by working on being at peace with all their neighbors.  Peace rules!

From Jay Leno:

Kate Middleton and Prince William said that for their honeymoon they want privacy in a country where no one will give away their location. I think they are going to Pakistan.

A 61-year-old bearded man went to the airport in New York, said his name was Osama bin Laden and he had a bomb in his bag. They knew it wasn't real, because he wasn't being protected by the Pakistani military.

Apparently, Osama bin Laden was killed with money and phone numbers sewn into his clothing. So we got him right before he left for summer camp.

Bin Laden was buried at sea. Or as Dick Cheney calls it, 'the ultimate waterboarding.'

In a stunning flip-flop, the White House says it will not release the photo of bin Laden. Now we have to wait for Donald Trump to force them to release it.

They say bin Laden lived in his compound with nine women and 23 children. I'm surprised the guy didn't shoot himself in the head.

The White House says they’re not going to release the death photo, so we’ll just have to wait till Donald Trump forces them to release it. The White House did release his last words: 'Don’t tase me, bro.'

The hot new drink around the country is the bin Laden. It’s a Colt 45 and a shot that goes right to your head.

President Obama has done something that no one else has been able to do. He got Donald Trump so shut up.

Obama's even getting a little cocky. Today he held a press conference and said, 'Yeah, I was born in Kenya. What you gonna do about it?'

Saddam Hussein is dead, and Osama bin Laden is dead. If you're Moammar Gadhafi, living in exile is starting to sound really good.

NATO bombed Gadhafi's compound in Tripoli. The bombing damaged countless antique rugs and curtains, leaving Gadhafi with absolutely nothing to wear.

Experts say the Osama bin Laden death photo will be the most viewed image in history. Second, of course, is Sharon Stone from 'Basic Instinct.'

It looks like President Obama has a new campaign slogan: 'Yes I Did.'

The good news: Osama bin Laden is dead. The bad news: there is no bad news.

Osama bin Laden was apparently shot twice in the face. It looks like Dick Cheney may have been involved.

From David Letterman:

They dumped bin Laden's body at sea, and I spoke with some clergymen that said he should be arriving in hell right about now. He would have gotten there sooner, but he had to go through Newark.

They dumped bin Laden at sea so there would be no shrine. And I just found out that CBS has the same plan for me.

David Letterman's "Top Ten Good Things About Having Osama bin Laden As A Neighbor"

10. Didn't matter how loud a party got, there was no way he was calling the cops
9. No one gave us better hugs
8. Did shirtless Tai Chi in the yard — you're welcome, ladies!
7. He did a lot of volunteer work at the JCC
6. Very quiet, except on rare occasions when Navy SEALs would raid his house and kill him
5. Having a celebrity in the neighborhood is always good for property values
4. Olympic-sized camel-shaped pool
3. The adorable way he'd shout 'Death to weeds!' when mowing the lawn
2. At barbecues he made his famous 'Fatwa Franks'
1. You were never the biggest jerk in the neighborhood

The Republicans are so happy about bin Laden they’ve granted President Obama full citizenship.

It was so nice in New York City today that Navy SEALs raided a Jamba Juice.

Intelligence experts think Osama bin Laden lived in the compound in Pakistan with all of his wives for six years. So I guess he did suffer.

Quite a weekend! Did you folks enjoy Osama bin Laden's season finale? At least he lived long enough to see the Royal Wedding.

How about those Navy Seals. We're getting our money's worth there. They broke into Osama bin Laden's compound with 12-foot walls topped by barbed wire, and fired a warning shot into his head.

We finally killed bin Laden. That didn't take too long.

There's already been some trouble for Osama bin Laden in the afterlife. There was a mix up and he was greeted by 72 vegans.

10. 'My horoscope says 'Big surprises are in store''

From Conan O'Brien:

Last night the Dalai Lama implied that the killing of Osama bin Laden was justified. I think his exact quote was, 'I love all living things, but that guy was a dick.'

At the time of his death, bin Laden had sewn the equivalent of $740 into his clothing. Experts say his next plan was to launch a major attack, or to rent a one-bedroom apartment in Chicago.

Marijuana plants were found near bin Laden's compound, which explains why bin Laden's last words were, 'Dude . . . '

Now that bin Laden is gone, we can get back to talking about 'American Idol.' That really shows that we've won the War on Terror.

The White House says they will release the Osama bin Laden death photo. Better yet, they're doing it on a set of limited edition commemorative plates.

The raid on bin Laden was carried out by an elite team of Navy SEALs called 'Team 6.' Not only did they kill bin Laden, they also killed Donald Trump's shot at being president.

Trump said that he hoped bin Laden suffered a lot. It looks like he got his wish, because the CIA said bin Laden spent his last hour watching 'Celebrity Apprentice.'

Yesterday Rush Limbaugh opened his show with 'Thank God for President Obama.' In other words, the Apocalypse has begun.

Osama bin Laden is dead, which means the No. 1 threat to America is now the KFC Double Down.

President Obama gave the order for Navy SEALs to kill bin Laden. When President Bush heard about it, he was really upset, saying, 'I could have used seals?'

Bin Laden was living in a house with no Internet access, which explains why there were all those bin Laden sightings at the Islamabad Kinko's.

The news of bin Laden's death interrupted this week's episode of 'Celebrity Apprentice.' Which begs the question, how do we kill bin Laden again next Sunday?

The President was on Oprah today, but the segment was taped last week. In fact, you could watch Oprah give him the order to kill bin Laden.

Jerry Holbert

Lisa Benson

From Jimmy Fallon:

President Obama said he will not release the photo of Osama bin Laden's dead body. Well, there goes my Christmas card idea.

After Osama bin Laden's death on Sunday, there was a 1 million percent increase in 'bin Laden' searches on Google. Which means people were going, 'Yes! We got bin Laden! Hold on, who's that again?'

While promoting her 'Let's Move' campaign at a middle school, Michelle Obama danced the Cha-Cha, the Running Man, and the Dougie. Not to show off — she was just doing her impression of Barack after they got bin Laden.

Rush Limbaugh said yesterday that Obama never would have tracked down bin Laden if it weren't for George W. Bush's policies. Although in fairness, Obama never would have even been elected if it weren't for George W. Bush's policies.

President Obama announced that Osama bin Laden has been killed in Pakistan. That's right, bin Laden is dead — just like the Republicans' chances in 2012.

Oddly enough, bin Laden's last words were, 'I hope you at least use this to interrupt 'Celebrity Apprentice.'

After bin Laden was killed, the FBI updated its most wanted list. So on behalf of everyone here, I just would like to congratulate Lindsay Lohan on her recent promotion.

Osama bin Laden was killed by Navy Seals yesterday. They did DNA testing to make sure it was Bin Laden. Or as I call it, best episode of Maury Povich EVER.

Jimmy Fallon as Donald Trump: "The message is clear. President Obama is so jealous and so threatened by me he had to hunt down and kill Osama bin Laden right in the middle of my show. Obviously the President planned this whole operation and press conference to cut off my show, so, essentially, I killed Osama bin Laden. So congratulations to me, Donald Trump. You’re welcome.

Jerry Holbert

Drew Sheneman

From Stephen Colbert:

Finding bin Laden was like finding a needle in a country that swore it didn’t have needles.

From Jon Stewart:

He was living a half a mile from Pakistan's version of West Point in a town surrounded by retired ex-military officers. Let me put it in New York City terms. Bin Laden was on 21st and Seventh Avenue; they were on 21st and Ninth Avenue. If the Pakistani military academy were Domino's, they would have been delivered to bin Laden on foot.

I suppose I should be expressing some ambivalence about the targeted killing of another human being. And yet — uhhhh, no!

What?! Not only did we kill Bin Laden, we killed him in Abottabad! Abottabad sounds like name most New Yorkers would have invented for the fictional place they would have loved to kill Bin Laden.

Henry Payne

From Craig Ferguson:

Elisabeth Hasselbeck of 'The View' is writing a children's book about Osama bin Laden's death. She wants to write a book to explain the whole thing to children. No title yet, but I have some suggestions: 'Good Night, Douche,' 'Horton Hears a Helicopter.'

Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces. Everyone on TV has been really happy. Glenn Beck was crying — and then he found out about Osama.

Politicians on both sides are equally happy. Dick Cheney said he hasn't been this happy since he saw the YouTube video of the girl throwing puppies into the river.

I think the next election just got a lot easier for President Obama 'cause his response to every question during the debates will be: 'Wait, I forget…Did you kill Osama Bin Laden? Or did I kill Osama Bin Laden. Oh no, it was me, wasn't it?'

Navy SEALS are very bada$$ hombres. They eat bugs and poop freedom.

Looking for Bin Laden was like a 10-year game of Where’s Waldo. Only better because when you finally find Waldo you get to storm his compound and put a cap in his a$$.

Apparently, members of Al Qaeda are online slamming the U.S. I don't understand why the terrorists are so mad about Osama bin Laden's death. Everybody in Al Qaeda just got a promotion.

President Obama must be very happy because he finally took down his arch enemy: Donald Trump. The bin Laden announcement interrupted 'Celebrity Apprentice.'

Osama bin Laden's death has been in the news all day. Leftish stations are going, 'President Obama saves the world.' Stations on the right are going, 'Obama kills fellow Muslim.'

Signe Wilkinson

From Jimmy Kimmel:

As we speak, Osama bin Laden is living with SpongeBob in a pineapple under the sea.

He's up to 2,000 friends on Shot-in-the-Facebook.

Some top Republicans are giving most of the credit for killing bin Laden to former President George W. Bush. It's kind of like when someone opens a pickle jar and you say, 'Well, I loosened it.'

Bin Laden was living in his compound with nine women and 23 children. It sounds like he was shooting a reality show for TLC.

The initial reports said that Osama bin Laden was killed by Navy SEALs, but now it appears that he was killed by actual seals.

This is the best time ever to be a Navy SEAL — or a guy in a bar claiming to be a Navy SEAL.

The CIA says bin Laden's last words were, 'Are you guys here about the dishwasher?'

There's one thing we should thank bin Laden for. Because of his death, for one whole day, we didn't talk about Charlie Sheen.

I would like us to kill bin Laden every Sunday night. It makes for a much brighter start to the week.

After all the talk about caves, bin Laden was hiding in a million-dollar mansion in Pakistan. The CIA became suspicious when they learned there was a million-dollar mansion in Pakistan.

There were a number of odd details that tipped US intelligence officers. The house had no phone or internet connection – it was surrounded by security walls – the occupants didn’t put their trash out, they burned it. And the name on the mailbox was a tipoff too. It said Al Q. Aeda. That was a red flag. The red flag was a red flag too.

This is probably the biggest story of the year in the United States. It is the only story on the news. This would be – I’ll tell you what – if you’re a politician looking to have a little public men’s room sex – today was the day!

By the way, 'buried at sea' means 'dumped in the ocean.' That’s what they did with him. They dumped him in the ocean. Now I won't feel so guilty about peeing in the water anymore when I go to the beach.

And so, Osama Bin Laden got his first bath in almost ten years. This could the best shark week ever.

Between the death of bin Laden and the royal wedding, it's an exciting time to be in the commemorative plate business.

Donald Trump has had a busy week – the President got sweet revenge last night by making the bin Laden announcement in the middle of 'Celebrity Apprentice.'

By the way – I should point out that - on the same night Obama was ordering the Navy to kill Osama Bin Laden, his potential opponent in 2012, Donald Trump was busy firing Playmate of the Month Hope Dworaczyk.

Mission Accomplished: Dead Terrorist Osama Bin Laden Political Cartoons

From Denny: While Pakistan bobs and weaves on who knew what and when about the whereabouts of Bin Laden for five long years, there is no shortage of opinion about his recent demise.

Frankly, no person of sound and reasonable mind believes the folks in Pakistan did not know Bin Laden was living next door. Even the locals who did not know for sure his identity knew something creepy was going on in that tourist town about 100 miles outside of Islamabad.

Of course, when you know a really bad guy with too much money, possesses a desperate need for privacy and keeps too many armed guards, well, it is a definite clue to steer clear of him. Would you try to friend a drug lord or the world's number one terrorist if he moved into your neighborhood?

Journalists in general - and the Arab world in particular - all are howling for the official photos proving Osama Bin Laden is truly dead. President Obama continues to refuse to release the gruesome photos, rejecting the world pressure.  Obviously, at some point in a few months, it will be necessary to do so.  The president is smart to delay that day for as long as possible, giving time for emotions to calm down.

It's a general consensus throughout the Arab world as much as in the West that the worst of terrorism is finished with the exit of Bin Laden.  After all, his group considered him untouchable and undefeated.  It is a crushing blow to find your leader was so easily killed.

More than that, ten years is a long time since America was attacked by terrorism.  The reality is that Bin Laden lived in luxury and comfort while he kept his followers living in squalor, encouraging them to make the sacrifices he would not.  Ten years later these once young men look around them.  What they see is they have spent a decade looking over their shoulders, fearing the assassins while their friends who did not join terrorism  have built careers and married and enjoyed having children.

Those same men who were part of Bin Laden's group are scattered to the winds, fearful of capture since the Americans found all kinds of intelligence on the organization at Bin Laden's house.  They are throwing down their guns and running for the most remote areas they can find, hoping they can melt into the population without notice.

Meanwhile, the cartoonists are participating in excessive celebration of the world's relief we can finally close the chapter on this man.  Take a look:

Funny Obama at White House Correspondents Dinner

From Denny: First the President starts off with how the state of Hawaii finally released his long form birth certificate to shut up The Birther crowd. He said he also decided to release the actual footage of his birth, never before seen in the past 50 years, not even by him.

Cue up the African music playing for his birth. When imaginary video ends, he says, "I want to make clear to the Fox News table that this video was a joke." Yeah, good move, Mr. President. These guys are suckers for satire sites.

Turns out it was music from a Disney movie and not his live birth footage. Just saying.

Obama moved on to criticism he is "too professorial." So, he told the crowd he was assigning them some reading to draw their own conclusions.

Others say he is arrogant so he has found a great self-help tool for this: his poll numbers.

Obama says celebrities are his core group of supporters. He likes Matt Damon but Damon had commented publicly he is "disappointed in Obama's performance." Well, Matt, says Obama, I just saw "The Adjustment Bureau" so I can say "Right back atcha, buddy!"

Where Obama got the most laughs and applause is when he went after Donald Trump. After roasting Trump on the belittling pit, Trump wanted to crawl up under the table and hide but soldiered through with a weak grin, trying to shrug it off.

The best part of the video is toward the end where the best satire takes over as Obama rolls out yet another video of how he lost his speaking mojo and teleprompter: "The President's Speech." Then the video goes on with fun hip clips about VP Joe Biden and his great ability to speak without a teleprompter. Really cute. You will enjoy it. Take a look:

Dead: Osama Bin Laden, Time To Stop Iraq-Afghan Wars

From Denny:  Justice came swiftly this weekend, dished out from American Special Forces in a deadly fire fight, unleashed by President Obama to kill decades-long terrorist Osama Bin Laden. The mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001 was found living in the lap of luxury in a large mansion in the affluent suburb of Abbottabad, about 30 miles outside of Islamabad, Pakistan. As it was, in the 40 minute fire fight, it was believed he used one of his wives as a human shield as he fired upon the assault team.

Terrorist cult leader turned world pariah

Like the typical cult leader he preached sacrifice and frugal living to his dewy-eyed followers yet enjoyed a lavish life style for himself, his family and closest followers.

Where he was hiding in plain sight

Looks like he was hiding in plain sight with the protection of the Pakistani retired military that he was most likely paying just as lavishly to protect his location. However, finally someone in the Obama administration must have put their foot down and demanded bin Laden's location in exchange for that $40 billion America sent them in foreign aid. Bigger money trumps little money. "Oops, you lose, bin Laden. Time to go straight to hell. See ya."

$40 billion for a terrorist: sounds like Pakistan came out ahead on that trade but at least America finally gets closure on the 9/11 incident. Personally, I would have preferred he was taken alive so we could put him on trial as a cautionary tale for generations to other world terrorists run amok.

President Obama addresses the nation

From President Obama who announced the death of the terrorist Sunday night: "The death of bin Laden marks the most significant event to date in our nation's efforts to defeat al Qaeda. Yet his death does not mark the end of our effort. We must and we will remain vigilant at home and abroad."

Will the President release video and photos to debunk conspiracy theories?

Presently, President Obama is considering the release of the video as proof of the terrorist's death.  Obama addressed the nation last night, claiming possession of the dead body but did not offer proof.  It was later reported America did not have the body as the military followed Islamic burial custom and buried the body within 24 hours of death - burial at sea.

Actually, this was a good move to bury him anonymously.  Why?  So there will be no place for rabid future followers to worship at his grave like he was some martyr, stirring up more terrorism.

Mr. President, no matter how gruesome, release the video and photographs.  And I'm not talking as a journalist for freedom of information.  Frankly, I have no prurient interest in looking at the photos.  I already know it's true Bin Laden is dead. However, the Doubting Thomas types and the Chicken Littles out there, who are afraid of their own shadows and see terrorists lurking in every corner, they need physical evidence to put their minds at ease.

Yes, there is the possibility of one action creates a reaction.  That comes with the territory.  That is also why you must never gloat.  That is why you must never release the names or photos of the men sent to kill him.  Excessive celebration is just bad form and creates more resentment, fueling bitterness and revenge.  Release enough still photos for everyone to see the truth.

From Michael Scheuer, who formerly headed the CIA unit aimed at capturing or killing bin Laden.  "I think they will be forced to put out the pictures" to debunk conspiracy theories the terrorist may not actually be dead.

Gruesome Celebration

Crowds gathered at the White House and at Ground Zero in New York City to celebrate the news of Bin Laden's death.

From President Obama about terrorism:  "Americans understand the costs of war. Yet, as a country, we will never tolerate our security being threatened nor stand idly by when our people have been killed. ... And on nights like this one, we can say to those families who have lost loved ones to al Qaeda’s terror: Justice has been done."

Why kill him now?

Last August President Obama had some uncertain intelligence as the whereabouts of Bin Laden.  He considered it too vague to act.  It was last week new intelligence surfaced that was actionable.  Read that as we finally broke through the Pakistani stonewalling and paid off the right people to learn exact coordinates for the attack.

On Friday, 29 April, the President gave permission for the attack by Special Forces.  They carried out their mission on Sunday, 1 May, taking care to avoid civilian casualties.  On Friday, as President Obama was boarding Air Force One to visit Alabama and tour the tornado damage, he gave the OK.  That set the ball rolling for National Security Adviser Tom Donilon to set up the mission and carry it out.

The President's time line for this action

Sumer 2009:  President Obama tasked CIA Director Leon Panetta to create a plan, locate and bring to justice Osama bin Laden.

Once the President said the mission was on "Go!" here is how it played out at the White House on 1 May 2011.  There were at least nine meetings for this operation:

1 PM:  On Sunday at the White House Situation Room Donilon and other principals met.

2 PM:  President Obama checked in with the WH Situation Room to review final preparations.

3:32 PM:  President Obama returned to the WH Situation Room for an additional briefing.

3:50 PM:  Mission reports had "tentatively identified" Osama bin Laden as among the people killed in the operation.

7:01 PM:  President Obama was briefed that the "high-value target"  was killed and that it was a very "high probability" it was indeed bin Laden.

What was Pakistan's role?

From President Obama: "Over the years I have made clear that we would take action in Pakistan if we knew where bin Laden was. That is what we have done."

Obama did not say whether Pakistan was aware bin Laden had been hiding in plain sight all these years.  Nor did the president say whether Pakistan had given permission for the mission.  Pakistani officials were not notified about the intelligence nor were they notified about the raid.  I would hope not as that could have tipped off the terrorists to move quickly.

Of course, after the successful raid, knowing bin Laden was indeed dead, the Pakistani  government jumped up and  agreed that "this is a good and historic day for both our nations."

Obama phoned Bush to inform him

Both Bush and Cheney were glad and congratulated Obama on his successful raid.  Bush rarely comments in public though Cheney regularly lies about Obama to anyone who will listen.  Yet today they both had high praise for Obama and the Special Forces team that completed the mission.

Bush and Republicans congratulate Obama

From former President Bush 43 on this historic event:  " I congratulate Obama and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission.

"They have our everlasting gratitude.  This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on Sept. 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done."

Afghan President Karzai comments

From Afghanistan President Karzai:  He labeled the killing of bin Laden "very important news."

"The Taliban must learn a lesson from this. The Taliban should refrain from fighting," speakiing to al Jazeera English. "The war against terrorism is in its sources, in its financial sources, its sanctuaries, in its training bases, not in Afghanistan."

NATO comments

From Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the secretary general of NATO:  He said the killing is "a significant success for the security of NATO Allies and all the nations which have joined us in our efforts to combat the scourge of global terrorism to make the world a safer place for all of us."

Terrorism is on the wane

The whole world is fed up with terrorism - even in the Middle East.  Cutting the head off the snake was a deafening blow to the world terrorism community.  This is the end of an era.

It was America that created Osama bin Laden the terrorist over 20 years ago by arming rebels in Afghanistan against the Russians and then abandoning them.  It was only fitting it was America that ended his terrorist rampage.  It is a cautionary tale to big countries like America to watch what rebels they arm - and how they treat them - because it can come back to bite us on the a$$ets.

Time to end Afghan and Iraq Wars and troop involvement

It's time for us to tread lightly in Libya, not rushing in to help create the next bin Laden by arming the rebels.  It's also time we move our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq.  Not a few years from now.  No lingering with the shell game of "Well, When" keeps getting moved around from year to year along with The Maybe, Maybe Not.  Americans don't like uncertainty and we don't like getting taken advantage of by Big Business and our government.

Besides, if this President wants to get reelected AND get the economy off the ground he has to get rid of the only true excessive optional expenditure draining the national treasury: Wars.  The treasury cannot sustain billions of dollars a week past a decade that has already come and gone.

History lesson of rich countries at war far too long

I repeat the lesson of history:  He who ignores his emptying treasury risks citizens rioting in the streets and getting run out of office.  What is happening in the Middle East can easily happen right here in middle class America.  People are that angry with our politicians.

Savor your victory, Mr. President.  The after glow won't last long with the electorate.

What Obama needs to do to get reelected

You want to get reelected easily and improve your poll numbers?  Here's the first phase of the successful road map:  Stop home foreclosures, pond scum debt collectors who buy accounts that are not legal to sell in the first place once it has been charged off by the banks, and roll out the national oil reserves to bring down gas prices.

Start there and you will start winning voters.  Anything less and it's two words: Jimmy Carter.  "Can you hear me now?"
