Colbert Lampoons Immigration and Pot Smokers - Roundup of Late Nite Comedy 26 Apr 2010

From Denny: If only I could stay up late and watch all the late night comics all at once... The next best thing is to corral all their funny quips about the state of affairs in America and the world into one post. These guys are the social commentators of our time!

Included also are some of the latest (since Saturday) political cartoons just released with references to the sex crazed Republican National Committee, Earth Day and Arizona immigration.

Check out the latest Colbert Report video clips as he lampoons the new Arizona immigration bill and has some fun with the pot smoking community.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and enjoy the start to your work week with a lots of laughs to keep you going until Friday blissfully arrives! :)

From Jay Leno:

One good thing came out of this volcano in Iceland. Economists say consumers can expect a huge drop in the price of lava lamps.

President Obama gave a speech in New York about his plans to reform the rules for Wall St. A lot of Wall St. executives were shaking in their boots when the president showed up. The bad news is, they were $800 Italian leather boots that were bought with our bailout money.

Happy Earth Day. To demonstrate their commitment, environmentalists all across the country risked their lives driving Toyota Priuses.

Unsexy, Unpopular and Unflattering Political Cartoons - 3 Apr 2010

From Denny: Politics and the economy sure are wearing on people. On top of that all these new sex abuse scandals in the religious sector has people hopping mad and the cartoonists along with them.

Religious Sex Scandal Cartoons

Then there is the bombardment from the negative conservatives in this country: Conservative Republican politics joined at the hip with talk radio and flooding the airwaves with lies, deception and hate propaganda. There statistics are that 91% of talk radio is conservative hate talk and only 9% is progressive or liberal. So, who do you think is winning the war on "the hearts and minds" of the average guy? Hmmmm, a lot of weak minds out there who can't resist being programmed to believe obvious lies.

Yet with the bondage sex club scandal and other sex scandals from the national Republicans people actually are still funding these guys - to do it again! Where does the negativity, emotional stupidity and enabling end?

The same could be said of the Catholic Church. Well, at least one piece of good news in Europe. Austria is a country that has been rife with sexual abuse and pedophilia for centuries. When I visited there I certainly heard plenty from local Austrian women about how much they hated Austrian men, especially the fathers, brothers, uncles and cousins who abused them. It was shocking to hear just how much it was tolerated.

In light of the current garbage spewed out by the Catholic Church to enable the pedophile priests there is a Bishop of Vienna, Austria, who challenges that notion. He is demanding validation and healing for the abuse victims and a change of course in the Church. Well, at least one man has the courage to stand up against the establishment.

Crooked Congress: Should Voters Disband Government, Press Reset?

From Denny: Poll after poll bears out the prevailing American public's opinion of government: they are all crooked and should be thrown out of office.  The real question is this:  Is Congress and this White House so in bed with Big Business with the selling of insider information to hedge fund managers and other crooked dealings that it's time to disband the American government?

As usual, greedy people cannot be slowed down or stopped until they hit a force bigger and stronger than themselves.  Big Business, Congress and this White House are so out of control with their abuse of power that the very people they govern no longer receive any benefit from keeping this government in power.

Think about it:  what does the average citizen get out of government?  We need use of the roads and highways to get to work. Yet, for 30 years now, Congress has refused to use taxpayer money to rebuild and restore America's highways and bridges.  Instead, they allowed the infrastructure to fall apart.

We need a reliable energy infrastructure.  Is Congress doing anything to improve that either?  No.  Our electrical grid is held together by the equivalent of safety pins on a sagging hemline.

What about our trucking industry?  President Obama continues President Bush's sellout by allowing unchecked and unregulated Mexican trucks to drive anywhere they want throughout America.  It's common knowledge that's how the drug cartels move their product and yet a crooked Congress and White House allow it.
