Russia, under the leadership of Putin the past 10 years, has actually gone backwards when it comes to world respect, world fear of "a great nation" and progress, well, progress is virtually nonexistent under Putin. Ever wonder why Putin keeps putting out the plea to entrepreneurial Russians - who have done well in other countries - to return to Russia to make the country great again?
The entrepreneurs fled Russia 20 years ago, not replaced by much of anyone. Why? Because everyone reluctantly accepts that Putin will one day storm into their businesses with government thugs and take it all away from them. So, instead, the smartest Russians left their homeland in search of a less disturbed and less violent way of life, easily found in the West.
It's common knowledge that Putin made his way to the top of the Russian political system by stealing first from Russian businesses. The problem now is that he has been stealing so deep - and for now a good decade - that he has exhausted their resources. Putin and his Gang of Fools have been stealing from the national treasury as well, especially from the military budget because all that money was just too much of a temptation.

Well, the past year since he piggishly attacked, invaded and annexed Crimea from Ukraine he has assessed his new money playground and fleeced the Crimean economy. Obviously, Crimea wasn't as profitable as this crime boss had hoped. Instead, the aging Crimean pensioners have flooded his pension system, clogging it down so much that Putin has taken to garnishing every one's wages throughout Russia to pay for the Crimean invasion and sustenance.
People who only make a mere $300 a month are garnished a minimum of $50 for Crimea. Of course, Putin tries to sell it as "being patriotic" but that bitter pill is not selling well to the Russian people. And, when the Russian people start grousing, there's going to be serious trouble eventually.
Think: Putin has already fleeced the banks in Crimea, the military bases, the food supply, the small businesses for their cash and products to keep his personal profits rolling in for his crime syndicate. So, how to actually fund the Crimean government now? Why, of course, the answer, reasons his criminal brain, garnish the wages of the entire Russian people. Oh, yeah, and he's eviscerated all Crimean political parties as his opposition for all the elections, turning the region into Putin's one party system of "choice."

Well, when cash flow gets tight because of international sanctions shutting down lucrative business deals, Putin decides it's time to aim higher and steal a billionaire's business, a "friend" of his no less. Guess this billionaire was Putin's friend but Putin is a friend to no man. In other words, once a friend of Putin is no longer a friend of Putin. Basically, the inner circle of Putin is now stealing from Putin's outer circle.
This is a funny story about Putin accusing this billionaire, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, of money laundering as the reason for justifying this huge asset grab that has resulted in this Russian company losing 30 percent of its value. Most companies cannot sustain losing 15 percent when it involves cash flow before they implode. I'll give you three guesses where that billionaire's money went.
The weirdest part of this story is that you know this Russian holding company, Sistema, was really used to launder money for Putin and his Gang of Fools in the first place. Guess Putin wanted to add "CEO" to his title of President and self-styled "would be" King of Russia. That and he was no longer satisfied with a percentage, instead deciding to get it all in one fast asset grab. Putin actually trumped up charges of money laundering from a multi-billion dollar deal from five years ago when Sistema tried to acquire a regional oil company.
Well, after the arrest of this Russian billionaire, the Russian business investment climate just took a serious nose dive over the cliff and into the abyss. Who the hell is going to invest in Russia now? Yeah, things are bad in River City Moscow. Keep the sanctions coming, folks.
