GOP and Rubio 2016: Women Should Suck It Up And Enjoy Results of Rape And Incest?

From Denny:  Does any one in this country actually promote or like abortion?  No.  Even as a liberal I agree with my Republican voting friends that abortion is disgusting and disrespectful of humanity.  But the way the Republican Party screams about the abortion issue does not solve the problem and has not solved the problem in over 40 years.  Obviously, the Republicans do not know how to lead the country - just stir up passions in cultural scream-offs just to win yet another election.  After the elections all the politicians sit on their hands doing nothing until the next election cycle of what will be broken promises.

Planned Parenthood has some serious problems with those insensitive doctors caught on video discussing the marketing of fetal body parts.  Of course, the calculating GOP strategists are promoting that video to rally the cause to defund Planned Parenthood - that also happens to do a lot of good for women's health issues in other areas like cancer testing.  Defunding Planned Parenthood is not the solution that will change the need for abortions.

The real questions every voter should be asking about that Planned Parenthood video is who the hell are these medical science creeps that are demanding said fetal parts be given for free or sold to them for their research and development of who knows what?  How pervvy can you get?  What exactly are they doing with that fetal tissue?  Why is there a "market" for fetal tissue, hearts and lungs in the first place?  Does this situation have anything to do with a severe shortage of donor organs in China with wealthy Chinese willing to pay any price to procure those organs?...

Russia to Daddy France: Help! Send Money. I'm Overdrawn at the Bank

From Denny:  The Russians are always as entertaining as they are annoying.  Besides, slamming - and taking to task - a violent global bully is even more entertaining.  One of their latest foibles?  Wrangling with France over a suspended contract on a $1.2 billion euro Mistral helicopter carrier deal not delivered after Russia invaded Ukraine and seized the Crimea region, annexing it to Russian territory.

  

Of course, to hear the Russians tell it they whine how they are the injured party on this Mistral deal because of those unfair sanctions.  They also use that same line about invading Ukraine, "Oh, how those awful Ukrainians have started a war against Russia!"  Putin should get the Big Fat Ass Trophy for Global BS Artist.

What Russia wants Daddy France to do is cancel the contract because France has no intention of delivering since Russia started military aggression against Ukraine. The last thing France or the EU should be doing is selling military ships to Russia when Russia is in hostile aggression mode, trying to march across Europe in the most naked land grab in centuries...

Dennys Global Politics: Obama Statements and Releases: Veto Message to the Senate: S. 1, Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act: From Denny:  President Obama's only veto in five years.  He vetoed it citing America's national security.  Actually, it was a clever political move to box in the Republicans.  It's easy for them to be against any and all things environmental, even financial burdens on the taxpayers - but national security?  Nope.  Not in an election cycle when the Republicans are hoping to take back the White House.  To go against a presidential decision about national security would be political suicide.

Besides, Americans have nothing to gain by giving a foreign country and their Big Oil easy profits but with no liabilities.  If there would an accident or an act of terrorism it's the American people who would be on the hook financially, not to mention a very toxic clean-up as tar sands oil is exceedingly toxic unlike normal crude oil.  Good move, Mr. President!...

Sanctions Whiner Putin: What Are Two Desperate Criminal Moves To Recover Russian Economy?

From Denny:  Russia, and Russia's Crime Syndicate Leader/President Putin, are now firmly planted in the World's Bully category.  We all know that world domination is high on the agenda of the conservative Old Soviet mindset political animals, desperate for world respect and the world's bank accounts emptied into their own.  

Russia, under the leadership of Putin the past 10 years, has actually gone backwards when it comes to world respect, world fear of "a great nation" and progress, well, progress is virtually nonexistent under Putin. Ever wonder why Putin keeps putting out the plea to entrepreneurial Russians - who have done well in other countries - to return to Russia to make the country great again?

The entrepreneurs fled Russia 20 years ago, not replaced by much of anyone.  Why?  Because everyone reluctantly accepts that Putin will one day storm into their businesses with government thugs and take it all away from them.  So, instead, the smartest Russians left their homeland in search of a less disturbed and less violent way of life, easily found in the West.

It's common knowledge that Putin made his way to the top of the Russian political system by stealing first from Russian businesses.  The problem now is that he has been stealing so deep - and for now a good decade - that he has exhausted their resources.  Putin and his Gang of Fools have been stealing from the national treasury as well, especially from the military budget because all that money was just too much of a temptation.

So, what are Putin's latest desperate moves to recover his economy? ...

Govt Shutdown Shutstorm 2013: Late Nite Jokes Display Congress' Malfeasance In Office

From Denny:  Have you been enjoying the Washington soap opera lately - known as The Government Shutdown?  The word is that sometime tonight Speaker Boehner will finally do his job and allow the full House to vote on the bill to end this idiot shutdown and reopen the government.  

Of course, there are conservative groups still urging members to vote against raising the country's debt ceiling to avoid default.  Those same groups also don't want the government reopened.  No one said groups like Club For Growth were smart enough to understand the global implications of such a screamingly stupid strategy.

Tomorrow is when the government hits its final time limit where the clock runs out because America loses its ability to borrow.  Get this; the U. S. Treasury says after that date we only have about $30 billion on hand with which to pay our bills, along with some incoming tax revenue added.  That isn't much for a $17 trillion annual economy.  Apparently, over at the House, they aren't smart enough to understand basic math like the rest of us, with conservatives and Tea Party members declaring how good it would be for America if the country defaulted from its prestigious AAA rating.  Does Stupid get any more ridiculous?

You see the House Speaker has held the American people hostage just to stroke the childish egos of the Tea Party and conservative Republicans performing the World's Worst Temper Tantrum for the past 16 days. All this, with Boehner knowing he would have to back down and agree to vote some version of this bill anyway.  Yet Boehner thought nothing of putting through financial hell the country and millions of people dependent upon the government directly or indirectly for their paychecks. 

Do you know just how much money the Republicans and the Tea Party have cost the U. S. economy?  Try a minimum of $24 billion for the past 16 days.  That's just the monetary cost which does not take into account consumer, investor and voter confidence.  That cost is yet to be accurately measured and will play out over the next few years in the form of elections, housing market sales and Wall Street reports.  

For now, Congress has kicked the can down the political road until the middle of January 2014.  Yes, start rolling your eyes now and get ready for the next installment of The Government Shutdown Washington soap opera.  The new season starts January 2014.  Bet you all are really jonesin' for it like a new episode of Downton Abbey.  

Barring that maybe the nation's lawyers will get together and bring a hoarde of lawsuits against all these Washington Cry Babies to push them out of office early.  Maybe we will get lucky and they get some prison time too for "malfeasance in office" which is all too evident.  Not to mention "theft by deception" as these guys take paychecks for which they don't spend time actually working.

Meanwhile, enjoy the hilarious social commentary from The Comedy Gods, the national late night comics and my personal favorite, comic Jon Stewart.  They keep us laughing so we don't pick up a can of Cajun Whoop Ass from my local Louisiana convenience store and march on Washington to teach them nasty political varmints a lesson.  Oh, be sure to order your government shutdown t-shirts today.  Many styles and sizes and three designs from which to choose! Cool WTF? Government Officials Are Voluntarily Giving Up Salaries Back to Taxpayers?

From Denny:  Just when we are all so furiously angered at the selfishness of our government officials for the usual screw-ups, pure laziness and lack of will to make positive corrections, there happens to be two of them that rose above and beyond the call of duty.  Yes, there are two federal officials that have landed in the Admiration Corner today.  These two men are class acts.

Turns out the sequestration mess caused high levels of Pentagon civilian employee furloughs - to the tune of 750,000 people.  The plan was to lay off these unhappy folks for 22 days but that has been cut back to 14 days.  Still, it isn't easy to lose one of your paychecks - even though it's spread out over many months through September.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced that huge block of civilian furloughs will save $2.5 billion for the Pentagon budget.  The sequestration across-the-board budget cuts went into effect on 1 March which amounts to $41 billion.  This $2.5 billion employee furlough will be tacked to that reduction.

Wall Street Bankers Pressuring EU Cyprus Bailout, Causing Run on Banks?

From Denny:  What a political and financial mess.  Germany at the helm of insistence and the EU bankers actually thought they could slap a 10 percent tax to fund a bailout for the country's banks on all depositors in Cyprus and not get any real push back.  You see, the cover story was that Germany and the EU bankers didn't want to underwrite the Russian oligarchs since 40 percent of Cyprus' banks contain money from foreigners.

Cyprus is commonly suspected as a money laundering site and tax evasion for Russian criminals.  What these greedy bankers got for their stupid move was a run on the all the banks as people flooded the ATM machines to withdraw all of their cash they could retrieve.  That was the fun on the weekend because the banks had frozen everyone's accounts and then closed on Monday to prevent getting at their own funds.  Wouldn't that make you angry too?

Fiscal Follies: What Everyone Is Ignoring For The Cure

From Denny:  Here we go again with the Great Republican Distraction.  This time it's the smoke and mirrors about whacking away at Social Security and Medicare and now Obamacare.

Most especially Social Security had nothing to do with running up the precious deficit but to hear the Republicans tell it all "those 47 percent moochers" are running up the deficit with all these villainous entitlements which said moochers have paid into that fund part of their paychecks for years.  If Big Business and sloppy politicians had quit slipping their greedy hands into big accounts like Social Security over the past few decades none of us would be having this discussion.

Will the Democrats allow the lies to stand?  What will they do about this constant shell game from the opposition party?  Definitely it's time for a bold stand and bold thinking to get the job done.  After all, the business community is stressing and hand-wringing about driving over the fiscal cliff.  This from the same guys who refuse to pay taxes into the system but enjoy corporate welfare taking gobs of money out of the country's collective treasury.  Yes, in case you missed it - that is the imagery of really bad sex. :)

From Denny:  Want to learn more about just how deep the global banking scandal goes?  But we want to laugh our way through the tutorial, right?  Look no further as both national comedians are here to guide us through a couple of hilarious tutorials that will have you grinning so wide your house will split apart.

Occupy Wall Street: Are Their Conclusions Correct?

From Denny:  This new American Revolution, Occupy Wall Street, caught fire across America in less than one month of protests.  OWS is spreading to 25 cities like an oozing peanut butter sandwich overflowing with jam - and is now international too.  There is just something so appealing about this protest movement because of its common ground that cuts across the spectrum of race, gender, lifestyle, generations, education and economic class.

Occupy Wall Street protesters have been smart in targeting the lynch pin of American society:  the financial sector.  It is the financial sector that buys the politicians to pass the laws to unleash business to have free rein and never enforce what laws are on the books.

It's the financial sector that buys the police force to intimidate ordinary citizens like those incidents of pepper sprayed women during the protests.  Notice they didn't go after men who could pummel them; they went after women.

From Denny:  This author decided to go on a walkabout.  Actually, Michael Lewis went on a financial disaster tour of several European countries:  Iceland, Ireland, Greece and Germany.

He wanted to view the global financial disaster through the prism of each culture and what a view he got.  (He is also the author of Moneyball that was recently made into a movie.)

In Iceland he discovered that up until seven years ago the only way to make money in Iceland was fishing.  But, seven years ago," the men literally walked off the fishing boats and walked into the banks deciding to become currency traders in a matter of days."

Even their president went around the world crowing about how Icelanders were natural investment bankers.  Yeah?  Where had that talent been hiding for the past 1,000 years?  The country is only the size of Peoria, Illinois with a population of 300,000.

Like typical men they told the women they knew what they were doing and not to question them.  Who needs directions, right?  They took three small Icelandic banks and morphed them into global banks inside five short years.  They amassed $140 billion.  Looked good, right?

America: How A Bad Credit Rating Hurts Us All

From Denny: With no debt ceiling deal in sight, Congress still squabbling and the American public fuming, we are left with contemplating just how damaging it will be to our daily lives if America defaults.

For an economic powerhouse like our country to be downgraded from its AAA rating is humiliating considering our status in the world. How can a country that gives away billions of dollars in foreign aid, finances an endless march of third world governments, no longer be able to pay its bills?

You have all heard about how Greece is melting down financially. Recently, the European Union put on hold their $billion bailout while they await Greece to sell off some of their assets. What took the Greeks so long to get around to the obvious? They should have sold their banks and state-owned companies years ago when they were first in trouble.

If you have ever visited Greece you soon learn they have one terrific lifestyle. It's not terribly responsible on the individual level any more than on the national level. They literally party every night, spending hundreds of dollars a night. They do not save money. They don't believe in savings accounts. Amazing.

From Denny: The story takes a look inside the Obama economic team and defines more who they are and how they look at the problem. He summarizes their positions. Right now the President meets daily with five of his economic advisers. There's a lot of arm-chair quarterbacking going on here but it is still interesting to examine the original positions and conflicts on the economic team and the outcome we all now know.
