From Denny:  Did you know that the Daily Show's comic, John Oliver, is an American citizen?  Did you know his wife is career military?

You can easily guess who it was who suggested he interview Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in her efforts to curb the Pentagon's so-called leadership values, refusing to give up even an ounce of command authority no matter how wide-sweeping and perverted is their corruption.  But then, that's the point, isn't it, to be able to have the authority necessary to cover-up that corruption and law-breaking.

In short, the Pentagon wants to do what they want, when they want and how they want without any real oversight or any consequences.  It's obvious those in Congress who should be exercising oversight are too busy with their fund-raising and insider trading to take the time to hold the Pentagon's feet to the fire and get those sexual assault and rape cases properly prosecuted.

That attitude has resulted in a rape culture that is at epidemic proportions in the U.S. military.  While it's clear it's acceptable to the highest levels of the military command, like Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dempsey, it isn't acceptable or palatable to the rest of the country or women in general.

Or, as Sen. Gillibrand said, "What control? It's clear the command structure does not have true control or there would not be 26,000 sexual assaults on women AND men in just one year."  All Gillibrand is trying to do is create an objective review process for sexual assault and rape cases.  Yet the Pentagon fights it.

Gillibrand.  Just to show you how screwed up and perverted is this military culture is a military judge actually went so far as to complain that when President Obama said "those guilty of sexual assault should actually be found guilty" was an overt and unlawful influence.

She also discusses Big Banks, the revolving door of politics and financial disclosures for campaigns.  Sen. Gillibrand is an attorney who specialized in securities.  Hmmm... will she pair up with Sen. From Denny:  Yet another example of President Obama protecting Wall Street corruption.  If ever you doubted just how corrupt our government and financial systems truly are, then take a look at these funny video clips.

The Daily Show's temporary host, comic John Oliver, lays it all out in plain language that even an eight-year-old can understand it.  Oliver brings a precocious eight-year-old little girl on to the show to prove his point. But, apparently, the financial sector reporters are unable to see the obvious corruption and insider trading issues - or are too cowardly to admit their knowledge.

And President Obama and Congress are equally clueless, enabling daily the financial sector's glaring corruption.  Oh, yeah, President Obama's legacy will be just as glaring for all the corruption he did nothing to stop...

From Denny:  Comic John Oliver tells it like it is when he labels the U.S. government as turned into the "sad ex-boyfriend" when Hong Kong refused to return Obama reps' pleading calls about giving back NSA leaker Snowden.  America kept calling back like the ex-lover that leaves far too many annoying texts and phone messages, making a fool of themselves.

Next up? The unprofessional "journalists" in the media are the ones who have insisted upon promoting Snowden as the center of the NSA leak story like it's an episode of Where's Waldo? They should be focused upon how the NSA broke trust with Americans and the rest of the world.  

Instead, the tabloid media chase Edward Snowden to Russia and board a plane Snowden was rumored to be on to travel to Cuba for refuge from the American government.  Of course, Snowden was a no-show on that flight.  What did the media do?  They took a 12-hour flight to nowhere without Snowden because they were locked inside the plane.  They took hundreds of photos of the empty airline seat and actually wrote reports like it was a news story and then tweeted the idiot photos.

Can it be that a comedian is a better journalist to report on the news than all the hordes of fools pretending to be journalists?  You decide.  I'll take a comic as my journalist peer sidekick any day compared to way too many of the sad excuses that call themselves journalists in mainstream media.  Even I never thought journalism would deteriorate to this low a level.  But hey, enjoy John Oliver's take on fools making fools of themselves - and in public! ...
