From Denny: As usual Washington is frustrating the country - and the world markets - with its typical bickering and jockeying for dominant position on the latest issue. The American people want our politicians to solve the problems of the country. The politicians and their lobbyist handlers are in opposition, pushing only their own agendas.
Too many in Congress are privately talking about allowing the Sequestration to go through with the deep cuts - for several months until at least June or July. They want to see how loudly the public howls about their economic pain of not receiving paychecks and then forced to empty their savings accounts to pay bills. Are you kidding me? Who are these Bozos?
Be scary. Be wise. It's the Chinese Year of the Snake!

Sequestration means "separation." Yeah, it's a separation all right. The Pentagon is going to "separate" 800,000 people from their jobs. Other federal agencies like the Justice Department, especially the FBI, will also have their jobs "separated." It's a field day for criminals in America - courtesy of the contentious Republicans who don't want to make a deal.
So far, President Obama and the public are in sync on what needs to be done on everything from gun control, taxes, deficit reduction, immigration to the sequestration. The Republicans continue to shove down our throats everything the majority of the country does not want. The Republicans market their Blame Campaign, throwing the negative responsibility on to President Obama if the sequestration goes through and ruins the economy. The problem is that the Republicans are equal in the blame game, not one-sided. Both political parties signed on to this deal and both parties agreed they would get serious and learn to work together to avoid the heinous consequences. The Republicans broke their promise to the American people.
What is President Obama to do to besides the current smart moves of speeches and photo ops to push the agenda the public wants? My suggestion is that the President step it up a notch with his appearances, making them daily until the GOP arrives at an appropriate deal. How? At the end of every press conference and every speech and every photo op he should make an appeal to the American public to put more Democrats in office at the next election.
That's right; Obama should inform the public of how many Republicans from both the House and the Senate are up for reelection in 2014. Then he should make the case of why to replace those Republicans with Democrats: to get the work done the American people want.
If Obama uses his media time wisely the often repeated message will get through - and the public will act. Waiting until the usual time to gear up for the election cycle is too late for the appeal. It has to happen on a daily basis and several times a day. Remember, most people only check in sporatically for their news and may only hear the Vote Democrat to Get Things Done message less than 100 times before the off year election.
Most people only tune in for the details of national politics when it's a presidential election. The crucial times for good decisions occur in every election cycle and that message should be hammered by the Democrats if they want to cut through the information and disinformation media noise to reach the voters. President Obama should keep pushing, pressing the Republicans and pressuring them more each day harder than the last.
Be scary. Be wise. It's the Chinese Year of the Snake!
