Crazy American Political Humor - 1 Jan 2011

New Years, Christmas and politics all converge for your amusement by your favorite cartoonists.

From Denny: We are a global village. How American politics go really does affect the rest of the world. It depends upon how many jobs stay or go, hurt our economy or benefit someone else's. How much foreign aid we send overseas affects how well various countries can balance their national budgets, feed citizens in famine or flood ravaged areas.

The past decade most Americans have begun to wonder why we continue to send foreign aid to the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and other European countries doing well - or better - than America. It's crazy and a complete waste of money. Too much money thrown around all over the world has created tremendous resentment of America. Perhaps it's time to revisit the concept of foreign aid, especially to other wealthy countries.

Happy New Year!!!

President Obama and his ongoing strange way of replacing old Chicago cronies with "new blood" - new Chicago cronies.  Obama is at war with his own Democrats to whom he refuses to consider, listen, accept new ideas, or worse: implement a Democratic agenda and values.  Apparently, he still believes he will get reelected no matter how many people he ticks off.  In what fantasy world does he live?

Press Secretary Gibbs is leaving, The Right Rightous Most Odious Axelrod is leaving, and Emanuel already left - and a few others who have clashed with the press and with their own Democrats repeatedly.  Gibbs, Axelrod and Emanuel are supposedly massing the troops for Obama Reelection out of Chicago.  Read that as a complete departure from tradition as other Presidents stage reelections out of the White House.  Also read that as the Chicago Political Machine will be heavily involved in this reelection campaign.  It does not bode well for Obama.

This was a national shame of how the Republicans refused to vote for a proper health care bill to help out the firemen and other 911 First Responders whose lives, health and personal finances are now destroyed all these years later.  It took public outrage to pressure the Lame Duck Congress to do the right thing:

This year has had some odd, even childish, names for political meetings like The Beer Summit and The Slurpee Summit.  It only follows that Christmas would be dubbed The Cookie Summit:

WikiLeaks documents pointed out the obvious:  America throwing cash at war lords, drug dealers and other criminals in Afghanistan and Iraq.  When will Congress get serious about dialing back the wasteful spending like bribe monies when Congress can't seem to find enough money to repair public schools and staff them with this century's textbooks?  Teachers still pay out of their own pockets for school supplies.

Why doesn't Congress take care of America any more?  Answer:  Because Big Business can't make money off low paid teachers and the middle class.  They make money selling to other governments - which is why our government continues with the idiot foreign aid so Big Business can get the high dollar contracts - which get built by workers overseas.  What a vicious cycle.  The American middle class must stand up now because our corporate politicians on both sides of the aisle and in this White House will not do it for us.

It does make you wonder about the new Speaker of the House Boehner.  What a constant cry baby.
