Military Sexual Assaults: Finally Time For Entire Pentagon Chiefs to Resign?

FILE – In this May 17, 2013 file photo Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, speaks during a Pentagon news conference about sexual assaults in the military, among other topics. Dempsey and the four-star chiefs of the services are scheduled to testify Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at a high-stakes Senate hearing on congressional proposals to modify the military justice system to stem the flow of the escalating number of sexual assaults that have outraged Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill. From Denny:  After a damning report that revealed 26,000 sexual assaults just in 2012 alone, you would think someone over at the Pentagon would resign in shame.

After 3400 plus officially reported cases that actually went up the chain of command from a few brave commanders not willing to cover it up, there were only 190 of those 3400 plus sexual assaults and rapes that went to court.  No one resigned in shame for this pathetic record.

Then a military jury found a man guilty of sexual assault and a general overturned their jury verdict because he didn't like their decision.  After all, the jury was handpicked to give that general the not guilty outcome he desired and they dared to defy him.  He didn't resign in shame because legally a superior officer can overturn a conviction.

Many senators in Congress are poised to take that legal right out of the military's hands.  It should have been done 30 years ago when women were entering the military and military academies, suffering sexual assaults and gang rape at alarming rates.  Most cases that were reported to commanders never went up the chain of command.  The military cover-up culture was in full tilt mode then as much as today.

Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Legacy of Love

Cosmic consciousness by h.koppdelaney @ flickr

Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Legacy of Love: From Denny:   ... Mentoring others is important no matter what stage you are living in your life. You can be young or old. You can teach the young, those older, those your same age. Teach what you know and share your life experiences. You never know who you will inspire. And, as you teach, you learn from them too. Never feel what you know is not important enough to share. Never be too proud to receive knowledge from others eager to share what they have just learned or figured out. For today's shared knowledge just might answer tomorrow's problems - for them and for you. Mentoring: it's a fair exchange, don't you think? :)

Heckled First Lady Michelle Obama: Accused As Angry Black Woman? Come On; Really?

From Denny:  Now First Lady Michelle Obama is accused of being the archetypal "angry black woman" for daring to stare down and get in the face of an inept protester who just thought the First Lady would tolerate her rudeness. Where do people get these ideas about how this was a racist heckling incident with white entitlement overtones?

Well, never to be a shrinking violet from controversy on my blog, let's start with the "angry black woman" stereotype.  Guess what; historically there's good reason for it as black women have taken a boat load of garbage from society for generations.  That fight for survival attitude would be ingrained by now culturally or none of their mothers would have lived to give birth to the generations to follow.  After more than 40 years of civil rights legislation, slowly climbing up the social ladders, admittance into the best universities and procuring high level jobs, the "angry black woman" stereotype is no longer as necessary.  Yet, the resentments still linger - on both sides of racism.

But here's the rub about this nasty exchange of a lesbian gay rights activist heckling the First Lady who is black: it's really about American female culture and a lot less about black intolerance of white entitlement issues.

Late Night Jokes, Funny Videos About Obama Scandals: IRS, Benghazi, AP

Tea Party protester
From Denny:  Come on; you knew this was coming.  The jokes are too good and the funny photos of Tea Party protesters who just can't spell their own language in sign after sign is shocking.  OK, unbelievable.  America needs to increase our public school education and reteach these folks their own language: English.

It's no wonder the IRS sought to investigate the Tea Party groups who were demanding tax exempt status.  Their paperwork was probably so filled with spelling errors they weren't sure what was going on.  If these Tea Party signs are any indication of the lack of intellectual caliber of these political groups the IRS tried to check out, it isn't any surprise as to why they felt compelled to do so.

Of course, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart just had to weigh in on all these scandals.  Politics and scandal are a comedian's twin joke bags that are filled to overflowing like it's Christmas all year long.  Stewart was especially funny when he joked in this clip about turning the tables on the IRS now that they are in the spotlight, "Yeah, it's not so fun when you get audited, now is it?!"

What Is Prez Obama Getting Right Lately? Enjoying the IRS Non-Scandal?

From Denny:  While the Republicans work zealously to manufacture non-scandals to grab media attention just what is the President really doing to correct government problems and on-going issues?

IRS Non-Scandal

My fellow media got all in a lather about the IRS "Scandal" because they really had nothing better to fuss about to try and drive advertising revenue.  Come on; we all love to hate the tax man.  That much the media knew would strike a chord with this story.  Even the Bible documents an historical hatred of government taxation.  None of us enjoy it.
