25 Funny Signs: Rally To Restore Sanity And Or Fear

Check out some good political humor from the funny activists who attended the rally.

From Denny:  What started as just a funny segment on The Daily Show grew into an actual rally that drew over 214,000 people. Glenn Beck's Fox News conservative August rally where he tried to compare himself to Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King only drew 85,000. The good news? Strong minds outnumber weak minds at political rallies in America. Well, that's one to celebrate.

There are a gazillion photos circulating the web from this funny rally that comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert put together on the fly when they realized people really did want to attend an actual rally in Washington.

Late Nite Jokes, Funny Videos, Post Midterm Predictions - 2 Nov 2010

Comics have fun lampooning the campaign process. Get Dennys Predictions for what happens next after the 2010 election.

From Denny: What an election day for this midterm! I saw a large turnout here in Louisiana at my voting precinct. Most of them were Democrats and Independents. At first I was heartened to see so many people out in force in an off year election. Then I looked at their faces and saw that expression. You know the one: It's the "throw the baby out with the bath water" expression. Everyone came out to vote. Most came out to vote against every Democrat just to teach the party a lesson that to ignore your base is at your own peril. Quit with the corporate politician attitude and start governing. Or better yet: "We lose our jobs so now you lose yours."

There is a terrible rage across the country aimed squarely at all the politicians, and the President, for allowing politics and the media firestorm to take the place of effective good government. Of course, there will be a price to pay for throwing out the good politicians with the bad ones.  I don't need Paul The Psychic Octopus to make my prediction. I can do it on my own.

Denny's Predictions:

* I predict the Republicans and the Tea Party will all be acting like complete talking-head idiots on the news talk shows, the worst nonsensical talking buffoons, so much so that the media will laugh at them more than the comics have.  It will happen in less than three months time this new Congress will become the laughing stock of America.

* I predict the voters who were so angry to throw out all the incumbents, installing these fools in their places, will deeply regret what they put into office. They will be appalled at what idiots they put in office as their leaders. The voters  will start recalls on those Tea Party and Republican politicians to remove them from office.

* I predict that the remaining Democrats in office will turn away from this White House and President Obama, realizing they should have followed their principles and their gut instincts first and foremost - no longer compromising to agree with the Republicans who stiffed-armed them. Those Democrats will be a force with which to be reckoned.  From among them will arise some strong leaders.

* I predict President Obama is a now a one-term president and will be challenged in his Democratic primary for 2012. Democrats think he is weak,  have lost confidence in him, his ability to govern, his ability to get the vote out in large numbers. "President Obama did not watch our back so we won't watch his" is their motto.

* I predict those anonymous unchecked Big Money interests are already cutting negative campaign ads which they will run at a fast and furious pace, saturating the air waves, during the next two years to unseat Obama in the 2012 election.  The end result of this is that after Big Money runs down Obama's poll numbers to lower than whale poop on the bottom of the ocean, the Democrats will dump Obama like a hot potato, running another Democrat in his place to keep their hold on the White House.  Too bad Hillary no longer wants the presidency.  She would be ideal and bring out the women voters.  Hire Bill as her VP and even the Independents and some Republicans would vote for that winning ticket.  But, alas, Hillary is pretty well done with politics after this stint in the too political and vacillating Obama White House.

Friday Lite: Funny Elvira Spoofs I Am Not A Witch Ad

Where Halloween humor meets political humor in America.

From Denny:  Just in time for the funny Halloween season! We have a maybe former or maybe now witch running for the Vice President's former Senate seat in Delaware. Can American politics get any stranger? Christine O'Donnell is the current darling of the boistrous Tea Party.

Roundup of Late Nite Jokes and Videos - 18 Oct 2010

Check out this week's late night jokes, latest cartoons, funniest video clips from Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart.

From Denny: Do these guys get any funnier? Well, our politics of late have gone from sad to funny to bizarre to laugh out loud funny - giving the late night comedians plenty of joke material.

Who knew a witch would run for the Senate? Who knew loud hypocritcal Tea Party wingnuts could get any traction with voters? The mainstream political parties of the Republicans and the Democrats had better get off the corporate milk nipples and start taking care of the people. Get down to really governing instead of worrying about staying in office for your own welfare.

Dark Humor: BP Oil Spill Cartoons - 17 July 2010

*** More of the "we are so screwed with this oil spill" political cartoons to enjoy from the nation's cartoonists.

Found this funny photo over at a bizarro blog from the loony tunes Tea Party crowd

From Denny: Even The New Yorker ran a funny from some folks on an oil rig - included in its entirety here - who wrote in ludicrous oil spill recipes to amuse us with their Cajun style dark humor.

I guess we "are where we work and what we work at" sometimes. Can you imagine working out on the Gulf in that mess, smelling those fumes, tasting it in your food, dreaming it while you sleep?

Funny Video: Jon Stewart Says Republicans Want Clinton Blamed, Not Bush

*** Comic Jon Stewart documents the history of blaming previous administrations. Read that as the Republicans are whining their own political strategy is whipping them into weeping jello.

With Bush as President no one had to resort to Photoshop; it came naturally!

From Denny: We all know how intelligent comic Jon Stewart likes to employ actual news clips to bolster his comedy argument of how ridiculous politicians can be. He also enjoys lampooning Fox News folks for their outrageous lying statements.

Stewart's heart was greatly warmed when he found out that the show "Fox & Friends" watches Stewart's "The Daily Show." What a compliment they listen to him, Stewart thought. Stewart documents his own interview with David Axelrod, senior advisor to President Obama, that Fox complained about vehemently. Of course, does Fox News ever do anything less than high intensity venomous volume? Fox took issue with Axelrod whining that he was blaming poor little boy Bush for the lack of an oil spill solution out in the Gulf. Where do they get these bizarre thoughts? Will someone put those folks on some "reasonable thoughts" meds?

Now Stewart, though impressed Fox watches his show, went hard charging to point out that blaming a previous administration is truly nothing new under the political sun. He suggests there may be an informal statute of limitations as to how long into each presidency this blaming process can be utilized to maximum political potential.

The Big However is that the Bush administration continued to lay blame at the feet of predecessor President Clinton for the full eight years Bush was in office. To their hypocritical credit, today's outraged Republicans are incensed that President Obama and the Democrats would dare to continue to lay blame on Bush for this sorry economy and high unemployment only 18 months into a new term. It's so anti-American they say.

Funny Video: Colbert Lampoons BPs Positive Spin On Oil Spill

*** Watch comic Colbert scourge BP Planet Magazine for its idiotic positive spin on the oil disaster still unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico.

From Denny: Only a patriotic American like Colbert could find and read the obscure BP's in-house online magazine called BP Planet which sounds like "Third Rock From The Sun" to me. Then again it sounds like a Sarah Palin strategy for taking over the world in 90 days or less.

Colbert pulls out his comedy sledgehammer and pounds on BP's positive spin lube job about the environmental disaster still unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico - courtesy of BP's bumbling.

As an American, Colbert is aghast at the idiotic "feel-good stories" as featured highlights in BP Planet that claim they are creating jobs for Americans as clean up crews on the polluted beaches. Colbert blasts BP Planet as a ridiculous pompous publication that is "all the news that's fit to underestimate by 50,000 barrels."

Funny Video: Jon Stewart Lampoons The G-20 Summit

*** Comic Jon Stewart discusses the boring unproductive G-20 meeting and the bizarre protesters using global media to protest globalization.

From Denny: Stewart renames the G-20 Summit Meeting as the OMG-20 Summit Meeting. There were daring photo-ops like a cold beer vs. warm beer drinking summit between President Obama and the Canadian Prime Minister. Yeah, that was riveting stuff to remember.

Stewart had fun breaking down the many important moments of the summit meeting so we would not miss the wonderful details. He acknowledged the presence of swinging bachelors like France's Nicolas Sarkozy and China's distinguished leader, where Stewart grinned slyly and said, "Leave the wives at home, gentlemen. You're in Toronto."

Stewart brought in one of my favorite comedians, Brit John Olivier. Oliver is forever the typical crazed English soccer fan, anger bubbling just under the surface, ready to fight and say, "Go f--k, yourself" which he did to Stewart who just had to taunt the Brits about losing to America in the World Cup this year.

Stewart mocked the ridiculous Urban Outfit-demolishing protests: "It's like these G-20 protests have become little more than festive yearly gatherings like an anarchist Thanksgiving... Are they aware how strange the juxtaposition is between the barbaric behavior of the streets and the sophistic internet culture they exist in?"

Funny Colbert, Stewart Video: BP Perplexed Stock Value Sinks

*** Colbert has fun with the BP numbers like $82 billion in loss to their stock value since the oil spill disaster.

From Denny: According to Colbert (and all of America) BP is a soulless corporate giant hell bent on killing all life on the East Coast. After all, the Big Business multinational company reasons, who cares about things that swim in the ocean? We can scoop up the oil and sell it for salad dressing to the food companies. Who's going to know the difference? The real question dogging BP is why is our stock still nose-diving down and off the cliff? We wonder why our shareholders have no confidence in us any more. Well, Colbert will be glad to explain it all to you, Tony, in simplest terms, of course.

BP Oil Spill Funny Political Cartoons - 15 May 2010

Photo by I'm Fantastic @ flickr

From Denny: Considering the possible magnitude of this environmental disaster for years to come, BP has not been forth-coming on a lot of truths. Just this week NBC reported how they are only trying to clean up 1% of the spilled oil. BP has been flooded with calls to help with the clean up yet refuse to take the calls.

Sure looks like their strategy is if they sign any contracts for clean up they will be required to pay upon completion. They are trying to foot drag their out of pocket immediate expenses and tie up the American government in court for decades to avoid their fiscal responsibility.

Mr. President, might I suggest that you begin nationalizing BP holdings in America? Or how about suspending their right to do business in America until they fess up and do right by throwing billions of dollars at the clean up right now - not later and only if their arms are twisted into submission? How about freezing their American accounts until further notice? BP is just playing games with you and the American public. They are not serious about truly fixing the problem.

Of course, on the lighter side of humor, Colbert had some choice words for what BP is doing about clean up. Have I got a funny video link for you...! :) Check out the finger pointing cartoons.
