Memorial Day: Living Courage, Dying For Honor: Celebrating Vietnam War USMC GSGT Charles "Chuck" Perkins

From Denny:  Today is more than just that long needed holiday vacation with the family, fun backyard barbecues and country music festivals.  It's one of those few days of the year that Americans come together to remember the fallen in our too many wars over the past few centuries of our young country.

Some of those wars were justified for the greater good to bring back world peace.  Other wars spilled precious blood for nothing more than the Pentagon leaders' selfish need for personal glory and the just plain money-grubbing greed of business people:  otherwise known as war profiteers.

Profiteers and War and Bad Politics

FYI, for those who don't remember or don't know:  The Vietnam War was a proxy war between the U. S. and Russia.  Russia backed North Vietnam and the U. S. backed South Vietnam.

"Feeding the Beast" of Russia with American Money

Profiteers are still with us today, not just the Vietnam War era.  Take a look at how our current day Pentagon is busy "feeding the military beast" of Russia.  The latest nonsense is giving away half a billion dollars to the Russians in exchange for Russian rocket engines that you know Putin will sabotage.  Come on, really?  Putin is supposed to be under sanctions, and, yet, our Pentagon and Congress find a way to feed his ailing economy another $500 million???  The sanctions won't work as long as the Pentagon, Congress and Wall Street cockroach around them...

Veterans Day Kudos Watch: Done The Right Way, DNI Clapper Brings Home North Korean U.S. Hostages

From Denny:  Finally, President Obama decided to be more discreet in his negotiations for and retrieval of U. S. hostages without the need to dance a celebration on his enemy's head.  It's important to refrain from those celebration dances as all it does is enrage and encourage yet another hostage situation.

As both a Marine and Air Force veteran with 50 years experience in the intelligence community (IC) DNI James Clapper was the perfect choice for the job.  Why?  Because a White House official or a State Department official would have been perceived as talking heads for President Obama.

Besides, it's been tradition for decades that the more talented - and those possessing integrity engendering trust - have worked international negotiations in an unofficial diplomatic role that then easily paves the way for the State Department to gain the glory.  It's when the IC is at its best instead of relentless needless spying.  Developing relationships with people on a global scale is the way to create Peace, not endless spying that doesn't yield much useful information to help resolve issues...

Jon Stewart Hammers Vet Affairs Failing to Break 1 Million Claims Logjam

Veteran Suicide Rate

3 video clips from The Daily Show

From Denny:  While other equally pressing news stories push to the front of the public's attention - like Israel attacking idiot terrorist-supporting Syria and the tragic Boston marathon bombing by less experienced terrorists - the very soldiers who fought America's terrorism wars are told to wait for help by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Granted the VA does process around one million claims a year, all this while in the midst of trying to change over from an outdated dinosaur 1970's paper culture and advance into the digital age.  Currently, they are looking at another two years before believing they will have arrived in said digital age.  Let's get real; multiple that by ten and the estimate might be near accurate.

Time For New Unorthodox Solutions For Rapidly Changing Dangerous World Situations?

English: Navy SEAL

From Denny:  Watching this man-child implode in North Korea because of a rapidly deteriorating economy, placing the whole world on the brink of war and destruction, started me thinking this entire week about a radical approach for a change of world mindset, a paradigm shift.  After all, we can no longer operate on the 60-year status quo as set in place by the World War II generation after the Korean War peace signing.

It's past due time this generation institute a new program, one designed to preventing or circumventing this kind of international mess of loose cannon dictators and terror organizations that want to blow up the world. It would give the various sincere world leaders and experienced diplomats the time they need to work it out when there is an impending crisis.  Or, if all hell broke loose there is an apparatus in place globally, in every country, to do the horrifically unthinkable:  rebuild from nothing.

Jon Stewart Slams Vets Admin For Damning 900,000 Vets To Health Care Hell

English: President George W. Bush and Presiden...

From Denny:  Like President Obama was warned when coming into his first term by outgoing President Bush 43, "Somewhere, every day, there is someone screwing up in the federal government."  Truer words could never have been spoken.  Who knew Bush was a government prophet?

For decades there have been serious problems going on at the Veterans Administration.  Along comes a new President and he throws a healthy extra billion dollars at the VA to fix the current problem, and, you guessed it, taxpayers are not getting their money's worth.

What it amounts to is that basically two greedy battling tech competitors set about to screw over 900,000 disabled veterans in desperate need of medical treatments and surgeries.  Does the insane and depraved indifference of greed never stop?  It's shameful what is happening over at the VA.

Why Wont Pentagon Pay For PTSD Service Dogs For Returning Soldiers?

bravo- service dog

From Denny:  As usual insensitive politics get in the way of doing what is right.  In this case, the budget hawks from the Tea Party and the Republicans make it abundantly clear they don't give a damn about the returning soldiers from the Afghan War.

It's fine for America to send people to war for 10 years running - the Pentagon's new philosophy of Perpetual War - but "fuhgetaboutit" when it comes time to address their many war wounds, the most pronounced of which is the resulting PTSD issue.

Time to rat out the annoying fools over at the Pentagon and the Department of Veterans Affairs yet again.  (Separate these from the folks who are trying to work from within to do something about this travesty.) This is really reprehensible the level of official callousness and depraved indifference about refusing to address in a timely fashion - or at all - the mental health issue of PTSD.  Nor does the public want to hear "Oh, we don't have it in the budget."  Yes, you do.
