Swift Boating POW Bergdahl: Smelly Pentagon War Crimes Cover-Up?

From Denny:  Well, blabbermouth Fox "News" is drooling at the prospect of destroying a recently returned POW - and they are doing it with malicious glee.  Fox News has always had the reputation as Swift Boaters, quick to lie about others, when an accounting of all of the facts proves them inaccurate time and again.  Their military "sources" - read that as pals who are partners in crime - at the Pentagon planted this story with Fox "News" of how the Pentagon wants to charge POW Bergdahl with desertion.

You see, according to Fox "News" the Pentagon sees this as a "win-win."  The Pentagon got it in their little pointed heads that if they send out a retired military guy to spout their stupidity that it doesn't really count against them.  Seriously?  What drugs are these guys taking that so badly clouds good judgment?

The Pentagon political animals know they can only plant stories as trial balloons with Fox "News" because any other responsible news agency or network would start with the barrage of questions to flesh out the story in its entirety.  The Pentagon knows Fox "News" doesn't have any allegiance to compassion for POW Bergdahl - or the Truth.

Of course, Rupert Murdock, owner of Fox "News," is known for lying and stirring the pot to promote yet more lies to get market share derived from the manufactured controversy.  Like any yellow "journalism" tabloid owner Murdock knows if he tells the lies often enough and loudly enough, eventually the mainstream media will pick up his manufactured story, achieving what Murdock wanted all along: big profits.

Murdock and the fools that follow after him to do his bidding really don't care about how many lives they destroy along the way.  For them character assassination is their daily stock and trade.  Obviously, they treat harming others like it's a malicious extreme sport.  Tabloid "reporters" are the bullies in the news services...

POW Bowe Bergdahl: 8,000 Afghan-Iraq War Deserters. Why Is America Attacking THIS One?

From Denny:  Maybe the headline should be:  "Do Terrorists Win?  The Perplexing Vicious Bullying of POW Bowe Bergdahl."  For almost two months I've been working to write this post but have found myself shocked, dismayed, downright apoplectic - and practically speechless - at the savage, malicious, downright evil attacks against Bowe Bergdahl.  So much for the loyalty to the American philosophy of "Leave No One Behind."  In this case it should read: "Leave No One Behind Unless It's Convenient To Use Them For Political Advantage [2016 election] And Avoid Prosecution For War Crimes."

Yes, I am still that furious at the attackers of a returning POW who experienced pure Hell for a very long five years.  So, I took a serious time out to watch before commenting to see how things played out since I knew it was the political hacks - and - highly suspect - most likely some very guilty platoon mates from Bergdahl's outfit - who were driving these attacks...

Afghanistan: Pull The Plug NOW, 2 Funny Daily Show Videos

From Denny:  How many times does this President need for Afghanistan's Karzai to stick his finger in Obama's eye before he finally slaps back?  "President" Karzai was supposed to sign the security pact with the United States, then President Obama gave him a Tick Tock delay to sign it by the end of December.  Karzai is still negotiating for more and more and as outrageous as he can, claiming he will not sign until his conditions are met - not signing until maybe April 2014.  Karzai arrogantly dangles this possibility in front of Obama's nose like a gold-plated carrot.

So, President Obama sends as his envoy National Security Adviser Susan Rice to talk some sense into Karzai.  Did Karzai listen?  Of course not; he was as odious as ever.  Fortunately, Rice is tough enough to hold her own and I'm sure she gave Karzai an earful before she left steaming mad.  While she was at it here's hoping she threw a few elbows for good measure.  But then why would Obama send a woman to be so abused by a guy whose culture does not respect women?  Afghans treat women worse than starving feral dogs.  I guess Rice can count herself lucky she escaped without her nose and ears cut off by local crazies.

Which brings me to just what is Hamid Karzai?  Well, he's the puppet government first installed by President Bush 43 in December 2001.  Karzai does not control the country of Afghanistan.  He has a somewhat tenuous hold upon the capital city and that's it.  His brother was a drug lord while Karzai played at being President, giving a more respectably appearing, though deceptive, veneer to the international community.  At best Afghanistan is a smoke and mirrors government masquerading as legitimate.

Next in the story line was that Karzai's drug lord brother was killed by a rival faction.  It fell upon Karzai to take over the day-to-day dealings of the drug lord business while play acting at international politics.  In the past year or so, the various drug lords have allied themselves with assorted Taliban factions in order to preserve their ruthless empires.  The Taliban knows how weak Karzai is and are actively seeking to topple him, installing themselves in the Afghan government as yet one more victory for conservative and oppressive jihadist Islam.  Soon enough Karzai will be killed off just like his brother.  The Taliban were not that successful at terrorizing the West, especially the United States, so they turned to what is easier:  weak Islamic governments ripe for takeover...

From Denny:  This is crazy.  America does not need to remain in Afghanistan for any reason and certainly not for an undetermined amount of time, committing any amount of troops.  To hear the Afghans tell it they expect us to subsidize their economy by training and financially supporting their entire army.  It's outrageous.

The Afghans possess both the natural resources - and a thriving drug trade - to pay for themselves.  American taxpayers do not want to spend billions of dollars more on this boondoggle with the tail wagging the dog yet again.

What is the matter with this administration?  The American people have weighed in on this long-running Afghan War and want nothing to do with the country.  End it and end the relationship now.  If Big Business wants to go into Afghanistan and work their various projects then let them hire their own security forces.  It is not appropriate to force the American taxpayers to foot their bills.  Nor is it appropriate for American soldiers to lose their lives, leaving their blood on the field of the greedy outstretched hands of the Afghan drug lords, er, President...

Why Wont Pentagon Pay For PTSD Service Dogs For Returning Soldiers?

From Denny:  As usual insensitive politics get in the way of doing what is right.  In this case, the budget hawks from the Tea Party and the Republicans make it abundantly clear they don't give a damn about the returning soldiers from the Afghan War.

It's fine for America to send people to war for 10 years running - the Pentagon's new philosophy of Perpetual War - but "fuhgetaboutit" when it comes time to address their many war wounds, the most pronounced of which is the resulting PTSD issue.

Time to rat out the annoying fools over at the Pentagon and the Department of Veterans Affairs yet again.  (Separate these from the folks who are trying to work from within to do something about this travesty.) This is really reprehensible the level of official callousness and depraved indifference about refusing to address in a timely fashion - or at all - the mental health issue of PTSD.  Nor does the public want to hear "Oh, we don't have it in the budget."  Yes, you do.

From Denny:  Today President Obama took yet another victory lap while in Afghanistan, spiking the proverbial football and crowing about how he "got" America's Number One Terrorist Boogeyman a year ago, Osama bin Laden.  Never mind the rest of us find this political boasting in an election year as really bad form, including Arianna Huffington.

Actually, it was the Navy Seals that killed the fool.  Why would a president that regularly has a hard time making any decisions go around the world crowing about how he made one decision to kill one terrorist in the comfort of the White House and well protected by thousands of bodyguards from thousands of miles away from the gore?  Come on; it has the look of election year desperation and is a bit pathetic.  It looks like the presidential version of an Elmo Happy Dance.

From Denny: Well, this has been an eventful week! Looks like I will have to carry over the cartoon posting for tomorrow too as there are so many! Right now cartoonists are still taking stabs at the racists in this country, health care reform, Big Business and Big Banks, the Afghanistan War and the lack of civil discourse when it comes to solving America's problems.







The public needs the President to keep arm twisting any health care reform opposition. Just this week on Twitter there is a guy who claims to be a Marine and put up a story about how he doesn't want state run health care, advising everyone to reject it. So, I tweeted him with "...uh, your health care is provided by the state - why not for the rest of us?" Hmmmm... no reply. Gee, I wonder why. One suspicion is that it's a health care lobbyist or Republican war room account: "Do ya think?"
