Cartoons: My Demo-Yard-Cats and GOP Temper Tantrums

Official presidential portrait of Barack Obama...Image via Wikipedia
From Denny:  What is it about my Democrats?  Like the typical yard cat they don't seem to know their name or come when they are called - like when their base voters are screaming at them to the contrary of what they are currently doing.

OK, my cats come when they are called but they were trained like dogs.  Don't come when you are called, you don't get any food.  Comprende?  It's the Head Cat Get Tough Policy at our house.

Maybe the rank and file Democrats should take the same approach and quit giving our politicians our votes until they start doing all that we have asked them to do - not what the lobbyists have demanded them to do while throwing bribes at them.

What will happen to Social Security and the Health Care Reform as corporate politicians, especially the entire Republican Party, seek to carve them up or abolish them altogether?

And here is exactly what I wondered when the health care reform bill was passed. It never was constitutional to force anyone to buy it. That was clearly a corporate politician giving The Nod to Big Insurance. What made this bill so odious was because of this stipulation and because no public option was made available to make health insurance truly affordable. The public has a strong need to be immune from cavalier price increases for which the insurance companies are so fond. All their greed caused this mess in the first place:

How the Republicans pressured the network media to get rid of an effective and brilliant Democratic commentator, Keith Olbermann. What happened? What happened is that Olbermann was virtually the only liberal commentator with a spine to stand up to the Bush GOP machine. They threatened him with death threats and hate mail. When that didn't work they came upon a ruthless idea that finally worked in their favor: they started criticizing on air the parent company of MSNBC for which Olbermann worked - General Electric.

Well, the GE CEO, Jeffrey Immelt couldn't handle the criticism and decided to fire their truth teller Olbermann instead of slapping down the GOP ship of lying fools. And Immelt? Well, he's President Obama's new BMOC (Big Man On Campus) who is the "point man" for the economy. Yeah, that sure makes us all feel warm and fuzzy - and trusting. If the guy is that petty toward one liberal commentator just how well will he truly advise the president? Immelt, a mathematician by education is also on the board of the New York Federal Reserve Bank. Talk about in bed with Wall Street. It seems Obama just gets in deeper and deeper into trouble instead of digging himself out of it.

To Olbermann's credit he had enough of the CEO's pettiness and took off like the race horse that he is. Hopefully, someone like Oprah will see the smart opportunity of hiring him on her new network OWN:
