From Denny: Can you believe it? This newspaper is supposed to be the bastion of America's best journalism and they have been advertising on the Rush Limbaugh talk radio show. Worse, they were still advertising this week after all that has happened. What are they? Brain dead?
It was bad enough the New York Times went to their petty "You only get to view 20 articles for free a month, bitch, unless you are a paid subscriber" attitude.
This past week they kicked it up a notch to "You only get to view 10 articles for free a month, You Big Bitch, You Whore, You Slut unless you are a paid subscriber" attitude. New York Times management must be on Self Destruct Drugs. What is it? A prescription from their Fox News buddies? Why would they so cavalierly alienate half of the nation and the world: women?
Have you noticed how all those who have suspended their advertising are making these ridiculous claims and press statements that they didn't know how their ads were being placed? Come on. Who believes that story? Own it, you corporate cowards.
The entire reason these companies chose Rush Limbaugh is because of the exaggerated unverified high numbers of listeners they claim to reach. It's interesting to note how those numbers have started coming down now that many are looking into their claims.
Perhaps it's time to investigate Rush's claims and find out what is really going on? I wonder how those same advertisers would feel when they find out America's Biggest BS Artist has been lying about that too? Nothing like paying inflated prices for something that does not exist. It certainly falls into the column of Ill Gotten Gains.
To date, 142 companies have slithered out of view from advertising on the Rush Limbaugh talk radio show. The last 10 holdouts are these folks who possess the Without A Clue Card:
1 - New York Times newspaper - nytimes @ Twitter
2 - Total Transformation, child-rearing advice - Quote from her site: "I know what it’s like when the child that you love becomes a defiant, out-of-control child who disrespects you." Maybe her first client should be teaching Rush Limbaugh how to quit acting like a disobedient child. Who is this crazy woman? You can't teach or command respect when you advertise on a show like Rush Limbaugh.
3 - Winning Our Future, a pro-Newt Gingrich Super PAC - WinOurFuture @ Twitter. The latest poll about Callista Gingrich is that no one likes her because she is the third wife that was the mistress while he was still married to the clueless second wife.
4 - LifeLock (identity theft) - LifeLock @ Twitter. Yeah, like I'm really going to trust these guys with my private information. These are the same people who disrespect women just like their idol Limbaugh.
5 - General Steel - the above graphic is from their site, hmmm.... what does it say about them?
6 - Zyvestra, a homeopathic drug for vertigo - Zyvestra @ Twitter. Somehow the words "caring about your health, ladies" and "Rush Limbaugh" sharing the same talk spot just doesn't make sense or feel trustworthy.
7 - Amberon, female menopause relieving hormone product - AmberonOnline @ Twitter. Are these people crazy? You disrespect women and then expect us to be stupid enough to endorse or purchase your product?
8 - Insperity, business services - Insperity @ Twitter. These guys do a lot of human resources outsourcing which means female employees. Wouldn't you just love to be working for this nasty corporate culture?
9 - Tax Resolution Services - for people too stupid to download TurboTax and do it themselves or too timid to call the IRS and negotiate on their own. The Obama IRS is friendly, willing to negotiate easy terms, aware of the bad economy. Grow up and do it yourself. But then, Limbaugh listeners are the co-dependent types, afraid of everything that moves.
10 - Lear Financial (Lear Capital - gold investments) - GoldCoinPro @ Twitter. Greed at its stellar best in America and totally symbolic of why Americans consider the country off on the wrong track. Too much emphasis upon gaining and hoarding wealth at the expense of good character and a quality balanced society.
And here are a couple more annoying folks:
Hillsdale College, a conservative college in southern Michigan. I can't believe any parent would send their daughters to this place to be told she must accept the status of a second class citizen in her own country and that her sex is fair game for what any nasty man wants to do to her. That is what this "college" is promoting by advertising on the Rush Limbaugh show. What lies do they tell themselves about what they are really teaching young women? Like how dare she stand up for herself and demand equality and respect?
A child adoption PSA
Who recently suspended their advertising on his show?
Hoover: "After careful evaluation, we have made the decision to suspend advertising on Rush Limbaugh programming at this time."
New York Times: This is the latest from them on their bad for advertising on the Rush Limbaugh show:
VP of Corporate Communications for the paper, Eileen Murphy stated:We do not advertise on the Rush Limbaugh program. The ads that ran earlier this week were placed as a result of a broader network buy (a metro traffic buy). Meaning...ads can be placed anywhere where there is a vacancy. There are places that we (The Times) have designated that we don't want to be and one of them is the Rush Limbaugh program. An outside agency manages the buy. In this case, either they, or ABC made a mistake and we've taken steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
OK, and this comment on Twitter was just too funny as she summed up the profile of the typical Rush Limbaugh listener:
Colleen Fritze · Boston, Massachusetts
so the profile to target advertising would be a menopausal women who has badly behaving children and suffers from vertigo while being trapped in a steel building for fear of losing her personal identity so instead of money she trades gold coins and give them to Gingrich's Superpac? sounds like a good place for one's money...NOT!
