Jon Stewart Slams Vets Admin For Damning 900,000 Vets To Health Care Hell

From Denny:  Like President Obama was warned when coming into his first term by outgoing President Bush 43, "Somewhere, every day, there is someone screwing up in the federal government."  Truer words could never have been spoken.  Who knew Bush was a government prophet?

For decades there have been serious problems going on at the Veterans Administration.  Along comes a new President and he throws a healthy extra billion dollars at the VA to fix the current problem, and, you guessed it, taxpayers are not getting their money's worth.

What it amounts to is that basically two greedy battling tech competitors set about to screw over 900,000 disabled veterans in desperate need of medical treatments and surgeries.  Does the insane and depraved indifference of greed never stop?  It's shameful what is happening over at the VA.

Who Should Be In Charge of Those Drones Bombing Terrorists: CIA or Pentagon?

Drone State?
Drone State? (Photo credit: Truthout.org)

From Denny:  Can it be the CIA numbers more poor judgment cowboys than the Pentagon?  It sure looks like President Obama seems to think so over the objections of the Senators who overseer the intelligence community and the drone program.  These senators are arguing in favor of keeping the current two-pronged version of the drone program with the CIA in addition to the Pentagon.

From Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA), Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, expresses little confidence the Defense Department (DOD) would exercise the same restraint with the controversial drone program that the CIA has exhibited admirably.

And Sen. Feinstein boldly stated this to the Defense News, "We've watched the intelligence aspect of the drone program, how they function, the quality of the intelligence, watching the [CIA] agency exercise patience and discretion.  The military [armed drone] program has not done that nearly as well."

Wall Street Bankers Pressuring EU Cyprus Bailout, Causing Run on Banks?

Protesters raise their open palms showing the word 'No' during an anti-bailout rally today outside the parliament in Nicosia, Cyprus. Photo by Yorgos Karahalis/Reuters

From Denny:  What a political and financial mess.  Germany at the helm of insistence and the EU bankers actually thought they could slap a 10 percent tax to fund a bailout for the country's banks on all depositors in Cyprus and not get any real push back.  You see, the cover story was that Germany and the EU bankers didn't want to underwrite the Russian oligarchs since 40 percent of Cyprus' banks contain money from foreigners.

Cyprus is commonly suspected as a money laundering site and tax evasion for Russian criminals.  What these greedy bankers got for their stupid move was a run on the all the banks as people flooded the ATM machines to withdraw all of their cash they could retrieve.  That was the fun on the weekend because the banks had frozen everyone's accounts and then closed on Monday to prevent getting at their own funds.  Wouldn't that make you angry too?

XL Keystone Pipeline: Why Should America Take All The Risks and No Benefits?

XL Pipeline Protest
XL Pipeline Protest (Photo credit: Talk Radio News Service)

From Denny:  Once again greedy Big Business seeks to hang the American taxpayers with all the liabilities - while they make billions in profits, free to walk away when it goes bad.

The XL Keystone Pipeline is a huge boondoggle that comes out of Canada.  Apparently, the Canadian firm, TransCanada, along with some American energy partners sum up their business mantra in one chant, "Let the Americans pay for it!"

Our State Department has been on a fool's errand writing up a study on the impact on America's environment, concluding it would not be a problem, in order to act like they are satisfying the environment folks.  As usual, everyone rivets their focus upon the distraction, taking their eye off the obvious.
