Negative campaign ads were never so much fun to lampoon as cartoonists are enjoying this political season.
From Denny: The midterm election season as been as bizarre - and as entertaining at times - as Halloween! The worst and the nastiest negative campaign ads come from the Republican side of the aisle. The Democrats have dished out some of the negative spice of their own as well.

Jon Stewart Interviews Obama Economic Advisor Austan Goolsbee
Check out the latest from the Obama economic advisor about the state of the American economy.
From Denny: One of the Obama economic advisors is Austan Goolsbee. Jon Stewart interviewed him recently about what exactly is going on in the economy and how The Obama Economic Team is grappling to get its hands on this runaway monster. They recognize the difficulties in getting down the unemployment rate. One of the ways in which they are taking measures to do so is by funneling credit to small businesses so they can hire. After all, it's the small businesses who are the heroes of the economy. Small businesses hire 80 percent of the workers in America.
This guy, Austan Goolsbee, is a straight shooter as he discusses what the President and his economic team are dealing with on a daily basis. Interesting stuff! And you know the biggest reason this video clip is on my blog is because Stewart lets the interviewed actually talk, minus all the "gotcha" dumbed-down journalism.

Americans Lose Jobs Twice As Fast As Immigrants Gain Jobs
In the 2009 jobs report, immigrants gained 656,000 jobs while native-born Americans lost 1.2 million.
From Denny: A new disturbing report about jobs gained among immigrants (legal and illegal) vs. severely lost among native-born Americans is about to be released from the U.S. Census Bureau and Department of Labor data by the Pew Hispanic Center. What it proves is that immigrants are gaining jobs twice as fast as native-born are losing them.

Prez Obama Interviews At The Daily Show With Jon Stewart
Check out the class act of the President talking with Jon Stewart.
From Denny: Prez Obama did a great job pressing his case for why to vote for him and the Democrats come November 2nd. This was one of those better interviews where the President actually gets to talk in sentences longer than idiot sound bites and the interviewer is not playing the stupid game of "gotcha journalism." Oh, that our politicians would talk like this in public with one another like in this give-and-take interview, disagreeing without launching into the character assassination wars.

Why Women Are Not Inspired to Vote Right Now
Find out what is bothering women voters about this midterm election season.
From Denny: Why is it in poll after poll do the pollsters find themselves puzzled as to why women are just not enthusiastic this year for the midterm voting - especially Democrats and Independents?
Like any situation there are varied reasons for the female voting malaise:
* Women view political race after political race still offering no practical solutions for the issues of the country.
* Women struggle working more hours in a down economy, hoping to afford rising health care, raising families, and are caretakers of aging parents.

American and World Economy Cartoons - 24 Oct 2010
Check out the national mind and opinions of our economy through the eyes of cartoonists.
From Denny: Our politicians continue to campaign for their jobs while they refuse to guard ours going out of the country still at a rapid rate. This month GM announced they were hiring an additional 5,000 new workers. Yeah? Not in America. And we taxpayers still own controlling interest in this annoying car manufacturer. They have the nerve to stiff the American worker with the bill and no job to help pay for it.

American Political Season - 23 Oct 2010
This sure is a mean - and more competitive than usual - political season.
From Denny: This is a midterm election season and it is in full swing like a Presidential election. This year is when the controlling political party gets to redistrict the nation to give one party or another more seats and deprive their competition of enough to drive them into minority status. Meanwhile, it's the voters who suffer from these greedy selfish practices. The Republicans are the most notorious in breaking up Democratic strongholds they could never gain control of to get a seat in the House or the Senate unless they did gerrymander the voting district.
This year, because of the Supreme Court ruling, there are now anonymous donors throwing $20 million checks at the Republicans - and some Democrats - to buy back Congress. It's shameful how the Republicans have sold out this county. No other country in the world allows foreign companies or countries to lobby their political members - let allow buy them for hire.
President Bush sold out our nation's ports to the Saudis and now President Obama has allowed the Saudis to buy up a lot of our Big Banks and Wall Street. It does make you wonder if the Saudi owners are intent upon imploding our economy as a way to take down America through economic terrorism - much to the delight of Islamic extremists. Their mortgage home foreclosure policies are as skunky as their credit cards' excessive usury and outrageous fees practices.
There are a lot of issues to vote about come this Tuesday, November 2nd. Make sure you get out the vote in your area. Register your opinion and let your voice be heard loud and clear - above the din of coins dropping into the pockets of Congress. This year is The Battle Royal as the voter is working hard to wrestle control away from corrupt corporate politicians. Help keep Speaker Nancy Pelosi in office.
Oh, those well paid for by anonymous donors political ads:

Where Halloween humor meets political humor in America.
From Denny: Just in time for the funny Halloween season! We have a maybe former or maybe now witch running for the Vice President's former Senate seat in Delaware. Can American politics get any stranger? Christine O'Donnell is the current darling of the boistrous Tea Party.

CNN Interviews Outted American Spy Valerie Plame About Traitors
Check out this explosive interview about the truth of the outting of one of Americas successful spies tracking down rogue nukes in the world.
From Denny: The movie about this odious incident is coming out now and is well represented as to the truth of what happened. Here Plame and her husband discuss all the garbage that Bush, Cheney and Rove threw at them. Rove was angry that Wilson, a former ambassador, refused to lie for them about nukes in Iraq.

Roundup of Late Nite Jokes and Videos - 18 Oct 2010
Check out this week's late night jokes, latest cartoons, funniest video clips from Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart.
From Denny: Do these guys get any funnier? Well, our politics of late have gone from sad to funny to bizarre to laugh out loud funny - giving the late night comedians plenty of joke material.
Who knew a witch would run for the Senate? Who knew loud hypocritcal Tea Party wingnuts could get any traction with voters? The mainstream political parties of the Republicans and the Democrats had better get off the corporate milk nipples and start taking care of the people. Get down to really governing instead of worrying about staying in office for your own welfare.

Cartoons on the American Economy, Crazy World Politics
To our politicians: the nation's cartoonists are watching you... Check out their latest opinions about the state of the economy, the current election season and world politics
From Denny: Early this morning one of America's TV "Moms" passed away - Barbara Billingsley, from the 50 plus year old show "Leave It To Beaver." That crazy show is apparently still in reruns even though the Baby Boomer generation that grew up on it are all now Gray Hairs (excepting those of us who enjoy cozying up to the hair coloring industry). Barbara was in her nineties and still known for her wicked sense of humor. She was a delightful person on so many levels. There is one cartoon referencing the show in regard to the effect on people's lives from unemployment and the eventual home foreclosures. I doubt the cartoonist knew she was ill when he drew it.

Jon Stewart Interview: Popular President Clinton On The Economy, Mid-Term Election, Wedding
America's most popular ex-President talks about how to get the economy jumpstarted and the serious erosion of the middle class if the election is turned over to the Republicans.
From Denny: Former President Bill Clinton keeps rising in popularity as President Obama descends that ladder. America is restless. Since Obama was elected the middle class has grown increasingly disappointed we are left out in the cold - again - by the Democratic Party that used to support the middle class against Big Business eroding our wealth, our stability, our hopes for the future. The people ARE the economy and when the people have lost confidence the economy slides down into despair.

Chilean Miners Video: All 33 Miners As They Emerged From Mine and More
Listen to rescued miner Mario talk about getting out more Love in the world.
From Denny: Doctors were quite surprised that enduring 10 weeks underground has not taken a physical toll on the 33 Chilean miners. One requires dental surgery, another has high blood pressure and another is diabetic. So far no issues with mental health.
Today, the miners requested books on how to deal with sudden fame. They also called in a lawyer to draw up documents for dealing with future requests for interviews, book and movie deals. In yet another show of unity, the miners have decided that if they are to benefit financially from this ordeal and rescue then they will all share equally.

1 Billion Worldwide Watch 33 Chilean Miners Rescued From Abyss
Check out the jubilant celebrations as the miners are rescued today.
From Denny: Talk about an ordeal, a spiritual experience, for the miners, for the millions following and praying about their story. It's been two months since these 33 miners in Chile were found to be alive and Herculean rescue efforts began in earnest. Since last night and all day today more people have watched the live coverage of this never before attempted rescue from so deep underground in a collapsed mine than any other news story ever.
Everyone is fascinated by these miners, mostly by their incredible - and uncanny - positive attitudes through it all. In the early days the leader of the group was faced with doling out only two days of rations to 33 men - and it had to last 17 days. It was then they got a message up above and the world discovered they still lived.

Monday Lite: Roundup of Late Night Jokes and Videos - 11 Oct 2010
Check out the late night comics and cartoonists as they dissect American culture and politics: ruthlessly.
From Denny: Can the political season get any weirder than this one? It sure fits with the Halloween season. I mean, when have we ever had an actual witch from a bizarrely named political party, the Tea Party, running for the Senate? How low can you go? Well, we already have a troop of liars in Congress pitting themselves against the middle class and working class of this country, sending jobs overseas. That's pretty bad.
Make sure you get out and vote Democrat, even if you have to hold your nose against what smells because the Republican and Tea Party candidates are actually far worse. The Republicans and Tea Party are actively pursuing abolishing the minimum wage. Just when you thought wages couldn't get any lower, the Republicans are working on reducing that too. They want to abolish your health care and Social Security. If they can't get Social Security reduced or abolished they want to give those billions of dollars over to Wall Street to "invest" into their back pockets.
Stand up and vote this November! Stop the madness. The good politicians, who are not corporate politicians, need our help as they are overwhelmed with crooks. Throw the bums out this election season. Make your voice heard. And remember, you don't have "bitching rights" if you don't vote. Guess you can tell this Democrat votes in every off-year election, every primary, every time local or federal government throws out the voting booths. This girl has "bitching rights."

55 Cartoons on American Economy and Crazy Teabag Politics
Check out this week's latest political humor from the nation's cartoonists. The Tea Party wins hands down on the most talked about this election season.
Lady Gaga looking spooky for this election season gala where we all will gag if the Republicans get back in control.
From Denny: If the state of the American economy was not so sad these mental Bozos running for office as Tea Party Tea Baggers would be comical. The strange thing is there are actually people willing to vote for them. Which is why there are so many cartoons this week featuring the redneck theme. (9 Oct 2010)
I always get a charge out of my relatives in the Northeast who think all rednecks live in the South. Talk about a case of regional bigotry. It's bad enough we have racism and homophobia in this country but now it's long held regional culture bigotry. I've traveled a lot of places and if there is one thing of which I am certain: Rednecks live everywhere - even overseas. It isn't just an American phenomenon.

Rapping Politically Slamming Poetry Inspired By Rally to Restore American Sanity
The politics of insanity in this election season inspires this poet who is well worth the listen as he reflects the frustration of American voters.
From Denny: Thanks, Blake, for sending in this video poem from your heart. Your frustration with the spin doctors making American minds sick is a widespread view across the nation. While we are restoring sanity to this country we need to restore common decency for our fellow Americans instead of this idiot mentality of the "divide and conquer" strategy to get back into political office.
To my readers, Blake's excellent poem is well worth the listen. The lyrics are so good it deserves its own song. The Big However is that if you have delicate sensibilities about the "F" word, well, it's sprinkled here and there - yet for appropriate reason in this performance poem. It's art; it's politics. It's definitely all heart.

Prez Obama Slaps Down Big Banks For Shady Home Foreclosure Bill
Obama catches last minute sleaze Republicans and Big Banks tacked on into new bill to cheat homeowners of their consumer protection rights while in foreclosure.
From Denny: Leave it up to the Republicans to sleaze the public and try and slide yet another scumbag piece of legislation past the public and the President. Fortunately, the White House caught it in time. As it was, none of the Democrats in the House or the Senate realized they had been sleazed by the Republicans with a last minute tacked amendment they didn't know they were about to vote into law. They thought the law stood as agreed with no changes yet they got snookered by the Republicans and their handlers yet again.

Obama Investigates: Big Banks Screw Up Home Foreclosures
Learn how the Big Banks just screwed themselves out of all their profits.
From Denny: Who really feels sorry for the greedy Big Banks who have repeatedly raped the wallets of the American public? Awww, everyone all together now in unison, "Can you hear me now???"
Big Bank Bailouts
Months ago, with the public loudly complaining, Big Banks took big bailouts and pluncked them down on to their profit lines instead of turning around to stimulate the economy by putting the monies out into small loans for the middle class. In short, money has dried up for development - big or small construction projects and homes, and small businesses are dying for lack of funding. Getting financed on a home loan is virtually impossible. It will be months, maybe as long as a year, before small businesses can tap into the new small business loans the Democrats managed to pass in Congress recently. Until then it's anyone's guess how many small businesses will bite the dust.

Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 5 Oct 2010
Check out news, political opinion, political humor and funny cartoons, recipes, poetry, funny posts, photography, spiritual thoughts and great quotes.
From Denny: All this weekend - and early this week - I've had the usual case of "Fall Fever." Who really wants to stay inside after a dreadful summer of weirdly high heat and humidity? When Louisiana weather calms down to cooler temperatures at night and low humidity during the day it's, well, irresistible. And the blogging just had to wait this weekend.

American and World Politics Cartoons - 2 Oct 2010
World politics are never a dull moment as we laugh or cry at our nations' antics.
From Denny: With the mid-term election season in full swing here in America the cartoonists are all aglow with their latest opinions of how well or how poorly our politicians are doing their jobs.
Of course, the Republicans were furious that comedian Stephen Colbert appeared in testimony before Congress.

Funny Video: Jon Stewart Announces Restore to Sanity Rally
From Denny: Sometimes, when you report all the time on how crazy politics can get - like with Fox "News" and Glenn Beck pronouncements - a guy just has to start a "new political movement."
It's time for the sane people in this country, the Democrats, to hold their own rallies like this one to kick off the mid-term political season: Rally to Restore Sanity. Glenn Beck and his Fox News Friends are already in overdrive denouncing Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert for influencing "America's youth to go down the wrong path to terrible sin." Yeah? Like sanity and truth?

Funny Video: Colbert Announces Keep Fear Alive March
From Denny: Stephen Colbert goes bouncing off the walls and decides the answer to Glenn Beck's August rally is an appropriate - and sarcastic answer - the "Keep Fear Alive" March during the weird Halloween season. After all, weird is good. Just ask Glenn Beck.

Funny Video: Stewart Questions Character of Congress
From Denny: Republicans in Congress lack compassion for anyone but Big Money, Big Business, Big Oil and Big Insurance. Then it's all crying and whining about wanting to continue the Bush tax cuts - which, by the way, are 30 percent of our current deficit. Yeah, deficit hawks, you don't ever mention that "factoid" to your Republican and Independent voters, now do you?
Congress still can't get it's act together on the controversial "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repeal of military policy about gays in the military. Everyone knows gays serve in the military, with the same success or failure rates as anyone else yet these politicians can't give gays their basic civil rights.
Even worse on the compassion meter are those politicians who claim to be such great "patriots." They loudly trumpeted how brave the first responders were on New York City's 9/11 yet today, nine years later when they are still suffering horrific injuries and illnesses, Republicans refuse to pass much needed health care legislation to help them. So much for "the land of the brave."

Funny Video: Colbert Ponders Tea Party Christines Next Crazy Outburst
From Denny: Can weird get any more weird? Just in time for Halloween the Tea Party has given us a Satanic witch for a candidate. Voting sure is spiced up this season. Colbert ponders Christine O'Donnel's next weird move and crazy outburst.
So far to date she has accused the American government of creating people with mouse brains. Tell us, is she the first model off that imaginary assembly line?

Funny Video: Stewart Finds Obama Kryptonite
English: President Barack Obama tapes an interview for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart at the Harman Center for the Arts in Washington, D.C., October 27, 2010. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza) (Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
One African-American woman, a CFO at a veteran's organization, frankly said, "I'm exhausted of defending you." Talk about zapping the President's strength. She was a veritable "Obama zapping machine." "A black, lady, financial analyst veteran?" Stewart said in disbelief. "We have found Obama's Kryptonite."
And there was the so-called former college friend, who works on Wall Street, got up and whined for Wall Street about how they are not treated fairly. You have got to be kidding me. What nerve!

Funny Video: Stewart Says Tea Party Won The Battle For The Soul Of The GOP
Jon Stewart (Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
From Denny: Jon Stewart of The Daily Show at Comedy Central wonders about why Karl Rove was not an enthusiastic member of the Tea Party Express for witches, calling O'Donnell "nutty." Yes, there is a battle of the nutjobs in the Republican Party, wrestling for control of America's hearts and minds.

Funny Video: Colbert Proposes Christine ODonnell Witch Test
Stephen Colbert as the fictional Stephen Colbert (Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
From Denny: Colbert knows how to solve the problem with vetting candidates formerly known as witches: the drowning test.
If she sinks and dies her reputation is cleared. If she floats, well, all bets are off.
